    hi

if you have a good DVD-RW for CF-29, please make sure it is in good running condition, i hate of returning many times. The DVD-RW in the cf-29 i bought had a bad check by the seller as it can not work with mine.

please tell me if you can sell it with a reasonable price.

i can pay by Paypal. I am in Syracuse, New York.

    thanks

Your best bet is to find a cheap CD Rom Caddy and then buy your own Sony Optiarc DVD R/W or a good slot load. SOlder the R2 mod to make it master and then you have the $200 DVD R/W

The caddies used to sell for as low as $23 each in bulk..... Now the price has gone up as far as $100. (I wish I would have bought the whole 200 the guy had but who knew?)

thanks bro. i am struggling with the seller, he shows me that he is not a good seller as now he claims me of broken item and he refuses to replace the DVD -RW but he intends to replace the CD-RW only.

what the heck he is on Ebay with that way, i wonder. Because he knows exactly he will get $ from this.

if he knows that i am a totally newbie in Toughbook here, he must feel shy that he is cheating a good potential customer of toughbook.

TOugh is really TOugh, i feel very tough now

    here is the auction.

    PANASONIC CF-29 1.6ghz / WIFI/40GB/768/ SD-RD / DVD-RW - eBay (item 140400253263 end time Apr-24-10 17:41:55 PDT)

I could not imagine what he expects. He said he used the DVD-RW for more than one year with good result, but the DVD RW drive lost the eject button and its front face - it was damaged before selling. So can he expected it will work more 10 years? He said as I broke the item, but in fact when i received it, it did not work any second. It could not be ejected from the laptop by anyway.

now even if I say I accept to give him more $15 which equal with the money I have to return all the laptop by post office, and require him replace what he did sell to me. Because I hate returning and waiting to bid for another item. But he still shows me that he does not replace the item. He only accept replacing the much less expensive DVD/CD-RW.

he only says: return it or take CD_RW, but with very rude communication.

I don't know what's going on with his history, but with me, the experience here is really tough, really not good.

I really feel tired of this TOughbook as I had returned the battery bay, and now this DVD, and also may be the whole laptop, because i really feel tired of struggling with sellers like this.

even if he can be around some where here in this forum, and he has a quite good reputation in the past - that's the reason I made bid very high for this item, but with me, all is very tough until now, lost money and get annoying.

    toughbook is really tough.

It's interesting that you say he has a good reputation. I guess I'm just a hard sell. When I see a 98% rating that tells me that 2 out of every 100 buyers was unhappy. I don't consider that good enough for my money. When someone is starting out selling on the bay that's fine since even one miscommunication has a large impact on their percentage, but once someone has several thousand sales or more, I won't touch them if their rating is lower than 99. Like I said, I guess I'm just a hard sell.
