About the cpu upgrade, there is something called BGA upgrade. It involves desoldering the cpu and then soldering one back with high precision tools. However, your laptop already has the highest ULV processor possible. The BIOS might not recognise any other processor. You would also have to look at the specs to confirm that another processor had the same amount of pins etc etc.
It is also quite a complex job.
I use W7 64bit and it is ok. IE comes with 2 browsers, one for 32bit and one for 64bit. Some programs also run in 32bit. I've not yet had a driver problem but the good thing of course is that my computer can address 4GB or more of ram.
-
Rachel --
Do you encounter many problems when browsing web sites that have alot of embedded Adobe Flash stuff in it, when using W764? My understanding is there is no Flash plug-in for IE64Bit... -
Guyy --
The Intel SSD's that have G2 in the model number supports TRIM. Typically also they are silver in color, whereas the 1st Gen one's that DO NOT support the TRIM function are BLACK, typically.
Though i have it, i don't know where to look to actually 'see' TRIM happening,,,or have happened.
See Rachel's link at discussion #1247 in this forum to get more info on model numbers. -
Hi howaboutnow, if i need flash i just open up the 32bit IE browser and it works no problem. I have installed flash on the 32bit browser but just cannot on the 64bit browser.
-
It looks like I will be going after a G2 Intel X-18m. Does anyone know if there are any bigger sizes of these SSD's coming out anytime soon?
I am willing to pay 1000USD if intel makes a bigger one, but I can't find any information on any bigger SSD's by intel or other makers that support TRIM, so for now, I guess I'll just spend whatever it is they want for the 160GB.
I haven't really seen any problems with W764 at all, but I haven't installed many applications either.
The only real problem is there is a Verizon program for the WWAN I want to install and I went to Sony's support site and downloaded the W764 software package and installed it, but it didn't install correctly, and when I tried again, it said "This software package is for Windows Vista"
The good thing is I am in Afghanistan, and I don't use the WWAN for Verizon.
I don't use their service in the USA either, so I don't need it, but it is still a little irritating that there is one piece of hardware that I can't not integrate properly with W764. -
Got it! I have loked up those other threads thanks for that!
The SSD is the only thing I am looking at getting here soon.
IE 32bit is what I use, so I have had no problems surfing.
Although I haven't gone to too many sites so far with flash, my connection speed is horrible out here, so I generally avoid those sites.
Thanks for all the help. -
Are you using the Verizon WWAN? If you are where did you get the driver or software? I haven't even been able to find it in Device manager anymore.
When I originally purchased the TT with Vista 32bit it was in the Device Manager as I recall and it had the Verizon Software.
Also one other thing to everyone. My TT came with MS Streets and Trips 09.
Does the TT come with a Built in GPS function?
When I re-imaged I didn't have a disc for Streets and Trips so I couldn't install it.
Furthermore, it came with a COA for MS S&T in the Documentation, but I am not sure if inherently it has GPS functions or if I have to go out and by the usb GPS Dongle.
Any assistance would be great!
Thanks again! -
Hi guyyy, sorry i'm in the UK and use an Option wwan card that is unlocked. May be if you don't perma reside in the US you should look into replacing the Verizon card which should be a locked Gobi wwan card.
Sometimes complete EU wwan modules do come up on ebay. I bought mine through Sony direct in the EU. You could look into the soldering route to solder a sim card holder as US model don't come with one.
Also, try using a universal extractor for that Vista software you downloaded.
http://legroom.net/software/uniextract
Also, you could try using smart network and see if that makes any difference to control all your connectivity options.
http://support.vaio.sony.eu/computing/vaio/downloads/info/info.aspx?l=en_GB&url=Vaio/Original/VAIO SMART NETWORK 2.1_ 2.1.00.07300.ZIP&m=VGN-TT11VN_X&ip=Preinstalled_Utilities.htm
Smart network is intended for the EU market and i use the smart network above.
If you put the wwan on may be it will show up in the device manger and you can try applying the software on the US website. -
hi guyyyy and rachel,
i too am in the states and just upgraded my tt230nb with an ssd. since i needed to do a clean install, i chose win7 enterprise 64bit. after having problem with light sensor and s1/mute/volume buttons, i read a thread where they discussed the order in which to install drivers. i got everything working...
except the gps function. i believe my tt has a gps chip in it. i spent about an hour on chat with sony people, and they told me that the gobi driver on their website (us) contains the driver for the gps as well. it doesn't work. they told me that they don't support enterprise, so i should suck it up.
i gps functionality is not very well advertised. the only way i found out was using the microsoft street & trips 2009 that came preinstalled in the vista version.
after the upgrade, i've got a couple of problems. smartwi does NOT show gps on/off button, and i cannot recover/reinstall the street & trips. i downloaded a copy from cnet.com, but that doesn't take the product key.
is the wwan (verizon cdma in my case) and gps on one chip? did anyone have the same problem that they were able to fix with a driver?
i will when i get home try the smart network for EU market. i hope that'll do something.
also, for others with a p or tt with gps built in, are you able to use that in any other program (e.g. google maps) or is it strictly for MS S&T (in which case i'll probably have to buy the 2010 version...)
any help will be appreciated. -
I never installed Smart Wi, I may have to do that, but yes, I have the same problems you do, but I have Windows 7 Ultimate 64 Bit.
I have found most support but I amy have to contact Sony and maybe Chat.
On another note, I purchased Sony's Extended Warranty for my TT even though it was refurbished. Sony must not keep good records of such things because they allowed me to buy it.
I like Dell support better. you can log on to their site and enter your serial number and you can check when your warranty is up and Dell would know as well.
Sony isn't as organized I tried calling them about my extended warranty and all they could say is if I bought it, it should have extended.
Service will prevent me from buying mass market Sony products, but for niche products like the TT, I have no problem buying them.
Ok done ranting! -
hi guyyy,
yeah, other than the fact that i can't find the driver for the GPS, i'm really happy with it. the bookstore here at my university had these off at 50% off since they wanted to get rid of them. i couldn't pass it up...
can you let me know if the smartwi and the gobi drivers that you find at the sony support page fixes this problem? officially, they do support win7 ultimate 64bit, so "officially" it should work. i really don't believe ultimate vs. enterprise is the issue here, but just in case.
i am going to try doing 2 things tonight... 1) install driver from the EU version, and 2) install the driver for vaio x. it looks likes vaio x uses the same verizon ev-do and gsm chips. i still don't know if it's physically one chip, but it's worth a shot.
i'll keep you posted, and hope that your attempt works for you...
until later,
g13 -
Well I contacted Sony support. They act like robots.
"I am sorry you are having trouble with ___________."
"I will be happy to help you with that."
"For this one you will have to do______."
It will require a restart and disconnect you from me, therefore you are one less call I have to deal with. That last one was mine. I hate to say it, but it only seems like Tier 3 Help Desks have any genuine help to give and engage in critical thinking.
I asked 2 questions.
1. I need to install Verizon Connection Manager but it won't install
2. I need a copy of MS Streets And Trips.
Answers
1. go to properties of file and go to compatability tab.
uncheck compatibility and check run as administrator this should fix it.
I did it and no it did not fix it.
You need to restart the machine, it will then take affect (It will also get me off the phone with you.)
I restarted and no fix.
OK thanks for being useless.
2. Did you follow Sony's directions to install Windows 7?
No I am a perfectly competent PC tech so re-installing windows was something I did myself without hesitation.
I am sorry sir but their is a recovery partition on the HDD and it contains default drivers and software that came with the machine.
You will have to contact Microsoft to resolve this one.
Ok thanks for nothing again!
I told him I was coming to the forums to get help because he was useless.
I should have known better, but it was a shot in the dark.
"Mr. Escobar, Did I answer all your questions and satisfactorily resolve all of your issues?"
No, and furthermore you made things worse. You need to get out of your "script" mode and actually try to help me!

I may be selling my TT now soon! I just got word of Alienware's 11.6" Notebook gaming machine!
This is from the site Netbooked:
Not satisfied with the current 11.6-inch notebook options on the market currently, in terms of gaming prowess? Well Alienware has just showcased an 11.6-inch M11X notebook which looks like it might be the most powerful 11.6-inch notebook for gaming yet with an un-named Intel CULV Core 2 Duo processor and switchable discrete Nvidia GT335M graphics card which Dell says scores between 6,000 - 7,000 on 3DMark or around 30fps in C.O.D and Modern Warfare.
LatopMag spent some hands on time with the notebook and playback was smooth, with all details maxed out in Modern Warfare, and at the native 1366 x 768 resolution. Brad over at Liliputing managed 30fps in C.O.D at 720p. Crysis gets 50fps. Sounds impressive for the form factor.
It’s a bit chunky and heavy (just under 4 pounds) but that’s the price to pay for a powerful gaming machine in such a form factor.
Will be priced somewhere under $1,000 and be available in Spring.
Alienware M11X specs:
11.6-inch 1366 x 768 display
Intel CULV Core 2 Duo processor (not mentioned which)
Switchable Nvidia GT335M graphics (1GB RAM) - does not require restart
Backlit keyboard (customizable)
VGA, HDMI, FireWire, DisplayPort outputs
3x USB, VGA, LAN, Card reader, 2x headphone and 1x mic jacks
6-cell Battery
6.5 hour battery life (integrated graphics)
2 - 2.5 hours (discrete graphics)
Weight: Just under 4 pounds
Colors: Black or Smoky Grey -
hi guyyyy,
yes, sony has been less than useful for me as well.
but yesterday, i got the gps up and running. i don't exactly know what did it, but here is what i did:
installed the EU version of the smart network, then
installed the Qualcomm® Wireless HS-USB Modem 9222 Driver
installed SmartWi Connection Utility
SmartWi Connection Utility Update
with a restart between each install.
after the last install, i was able to get the smartwi working, and *voila* the location button was there. i turned it on, ran the demo version of MS streets & trips 2009, and got a gps fix.
i did not try the VZAcess manager, after this all started working.
i really don't want to pay for MS streets & trips... but i can't seem to download a copy that i can use my legal product key on...

Hello happy TT owners !
I still could not buy one yet.
I found this site : http://www.geekstuff4u.com/notebooks/ultralight/sony-vaio-tt93.html
Does anyone have used this site ?
Do you recommend ?
One of the positive aspects is that the TT are configurable. Quite a lot of options are available. So, I have some questions in order to make up my mind.
- 1.4GHz vs 1.6GHz (+ 84€What difference does it make ? Is it significant ? Does affect battery life ?
- SSD options are all x times 2 RAID 0. I understand that it speeds up access but I read somewhere that SSD degrade with the number of rw operations this could be fatal on a RAID 0 pair of drives. Do you think that this configuration can be changed in order to have two non RAID discs.
- I am tempted to choose a colored model, which one between the blue and red looks better ?
I still have to check the amount of taxes I will have to pay to import this item to France or Portugal. -
Zigomatic, I have never heard of that site, they are based in Japan where Conics is based. Why not just use Conics as people have used them on here or is that geeksstuff4u cheaper?
Guyyy, that Alienware design wise i don't like the look of it . It also has no removable battery or extended battery and at 4lbs for an ultraportable <12.1 it is too heavy for my needs. However, like you said guyyy it needs to be to accomdate the graphics card. It will appeal a lot though to those that like gaming notebooks and want a smaller notebook on the go. The price is extremly decent as well.
I like having a built in drive to and also wwan. I'm not sure if the M11X will come with wwan.
golgo1313, i'm glad you got your GPS working. -
Rachel, I checked both sites (after posting :-( ) and Conics are cheaper. I should have seach the forum before, there is a lot of positive feedback about Conics.
-
Rachel-
I like and am excited about the design and the game potential in this notebook (I am a bit of a gamer).
I especially like the backlit keyboard. I wish Sony would have incorporated it with the TT.
It is a little on the "heavy" side I suppose especially in comparison to our nice little TT's. I had no idea it didn't have a battery option, this would strongly discourage me from buying it, because I am a battery obsesser. I like to have AT LEAST 2 on hand. The WWAN I am not too sure of. I will have to check it out in detail when it is released to make my decision on it. I don't think I'll sell my TT after all as it does have strong battery life and you can get more and upgraded batteries.
Just as a side question-Do you know where I can buy an Intel SSD for my TT the latest G2 of the SSD? I was looking for an American company that would ship to Afghanistan, but neither newegg nor tigerdirect carry these in the 1.8" form factor. Are these really that new?
Thanks! -
Guyyyy -- there's a couple of eBayer's who are offering G2 x18's from China and Hong Kong. If you pay via PayPal i wouldn't think they would have a problem shipping to Afghanistan.
-
Sounds good howaboutnow Except,
It's funny I will buy almost anything on Ebay and have in the past even a Rolex watch, but I have my reservations on a hard drive. I just have my doubts on support.
If the price is right (300 or less) I may jump, but otherwise, the risk just seems too big and what is really at stake is not just money, it is my information, and I can back up my info all day, but if it goes I have to go through a lot just to get it back.
I may take the jump anyway, I am still trying to decide. -
Guyyyy --
1) you would buy a *new* *unopened* one on eBay
2) support and warranty by Intel.
I've bought several SSD's on eBay, no problems at all. -
I am trusting you on this one. I have no Ebay access at work so I will look into this when my shift is over. -
-
Looks like I made a huge mistake!
I took apart the TT with the guide available online, and tore the ribbon cable that connects the palmrest/keyboard to the motherboard.
Can anyone help? Rachel? Anyone?
I see the part number reads:
1-878-120-11
FPC-145
>PI<
on the corner of the ribbon cable.
Not too sure why it ripped I was being gentle/careful.
Oh well, I need a new one of these.
Thanks! -
Unless you *know* you actually ripped it, you've probably just slipped it out of its connector. If you look real close, that ribbon connects on the one end wth a tiny, tiny connector. I'm not talking about the obvious little square connector on the mobo, but the other end that connects to the keyboard. It's very skinny, about an inch long. It has a tiny lever that you pull up on, slide the ribbon in, then push the little lever back down. It happened to me too -- i freaked until i saw that it was as i described.
Take a real close look for that little connector and it's little lever. You MAY even need a magnifying glass (no kidding!). -
I thought this blog may be of (reading) interest to the TT owners. A guy in Taiwan sticked a SL9600 in TT. You probably need to use Google Translate to read it, though.

Quick test run video.

It is definately torn. I am pretty savy on hardware. It is phisically torn in a corer, it was an audible rip too. Copper and plastic torn. I don't know what to do and I am freaking out.
I got my SSD and went to put it in and it ripped. I was really upset I tried duct tape, electrical tape everything. I mean the mouse and fingerprint reader wont work but the keyboard does and bluetooth doesnt work either. WIERD!
If you have any ideas please help! -
has anyone with a 64bit win7 installed more than 4gb of ram? i'm interested in upgrading to 8gb, but wanted to know that it can be recognized.
i thought that there was only 1 memory slot with another 2gb soldered on the board. but i realized that there is a slot on the other side of the board that can only be accessed by removing the keyboard. found out when i did an ssd upgrade.
so anyone got 8gb up and running?
and i'm drooling about the cpu upgrade...
***edit***
after further searching, i've discovered that 2 people have upgraded their memory to 8gb and got it working. -
About the cables you could PM this member. They had the same problem and i don't know how they resolved it. It is a real shame that this happened.

You could try looking up your model number also on the Sony Service website
https://servicesales.sel.sony.com/ecom/accessories/web/index.jsp
You can also look here and they may ship to your location.
http://www.sparepartswarehouse.com/Sony,Vaio,VGN-TT-Series,VGN-TT298YB,Laptop,Parts.aspx
As for the ram upgrades it has been done, see this thread.
http://forum.notebookreview.com/showpost.php?p=5492600&postcount=19
I would stick to a ULV processor for this laptop as it is better for battery life. Some people do demand more power though. It is good that it can be done though. I think the LV series are soldered also. I don't know how they got 5.5 in WEI with 2GB of ram.
May be someone needs to look into overclocking more. I looked into it but the PLL number was not supported. Asus models with a 1.3 processor can be overclocked all the way to 1.73. The 1.6 in IDA reaches 1.8ghz but i wonder what it can do overclocked.
I don't really need it though but i'm curious anyway. This was discussed in the second thread i linked to.
The top end Sony TT in the EU has had a bit of a price cut, well at least in the UK anyway as that is what i checked.
This is my WEI with w7 64bit, i'm not bothered by them but i find it a bit puzzling how the Sony Y series manages to get 3.4 for graphics and the TT gets 3.2. I even downloaded the Sony Y graphic drivers and that didn't make any difference.
7.1 is not bad at all for a single Samsung 1.8 drive.Attached Files:

-
guyyyy, very sorry for your misfortune. I'll be attempting this upgrade -- any words of advice/wisdom as to how we can avoid your experience? Or was it a random fluke?
-
Thank You Rachel. I'll see if I can get this cable. I emailed Sony Parts and they got back to me with "We are sorry, but we were not able to identify the part you requested with the information given" and asked I actually call them.
Sounds like a robotic response to me. oh well.
I PM'd Dimension we will see if he get's back to me. This was really annoying.
The M11X from Alienware is up for Pre-order, but all it has is a 1.3 C2D ULV
but a 1GB video card and backlit keyboard. Battery thing has me wondering though!
I gotta get this fixed though. I am having to use my BEAST laptop my Dell XPS M1730 and I don't like that. IT is strictly for gaming.
This TT problem has been extremely disheartening.
I love the TT, but the alienware keeps calling my name!
Ah, what am I saying, I'll probably keep both! This is my first Sony. -
1. Pry the palmrest up as little as possible and
2. Seperate the ribbon cable from the base of the laptop.
then you can perform any work possible. If you hear a plastic copper wire type tear. then you have officially torn that cable. be SUPER careful. Mine ripped at the Palmrest not the motherboard.
Good luck take care and be very very careful! -
This is a link to a teardown guide.
http://kunkoku.livedoor.biz/archives/51534770.html
The M11X has been released now. It weighs just under 4.4lbs without an internal drive but price wise it is very very decent even for EU pricing. There is also an option for a wwan module for US models. 4.4lbs is a bit heavy for an ultraportable but it is still quite a portable weight.
The standard non removable battery is 63whr compared to the 59whr standard battery that you get with the TT.
I wonder what the quality of the display will be like.
Yes, it is definetly interesting and i know some people who would appreciate it.
Still, i prefer my TT as i am not a gamer and prefer the looks and weight of the TT but Dell/Alienware did well there and this should be if there are no problems with it be a good seller.
Dell should allow this to be customised with a 1.6 ULV processor.
I bought a docking station today, it was a real bargain at £75. -
I pre-ordered today and the sales rep/tech told me the battery is removeable. I asked "Are you sure?" He said "Yes" He also confirmed WWAN as well as bluetooth and built in. He said he was holding a production model in hand.
I called sony for that part today. Just to let everyone know, the part number is: FPC-145 in the US at least!
Good pick up on the docking station at £75 Where did you get it or was it a special hook up?
Well I think this is all for now, I won't get my M11x until 1st week of April they say so I'll be anxiously awaiting, so for now I am anxiously awaiting my replacement cable for my TT. -
I don't know about the battery anymore. I read on here in the review section that it was non removable but i guess we shall see when reviews come out.
The backlit keyboard doesn't bother me. The TT display with the sensor of easily reaches 300nits + and with the sensor of it more than compensates.
The docking station was a special hook up.
It will be interesting to see with the intro of the M11X what or if any impact it will have on the ULV notebook market. -
I completely agree. I have been waiting more than a year for this whole ULV movement to gain steam. I actually would like something a bit better if possible, maybe a little more voltage, yet very little change in battery consumption, as this is almost impossible, the improvements should be coming from the batteries themselves to harness the energy in a smaller footprint.
With a change to the batteries themselves, we may very well eliminate the need for ULV, save for heat issues of course.
ULV has it's limitations, but it is a good starting point to smaller notebooks. I dream of a time where we can have a range of notebook sizes for every consumer, with the same type of features across the board. Alienware is pioneering the graphics portion, while Sony put a powerhouse utility notebook in the sub 12" range and has been doing it for a few years now.
It would be nice for the OEM's to start looking into making machines more customizeable to each consumer and their particular needs. I would like to see options for everything, from screen size all the way to onboard sound options including 7.1 surround sound and beyond.
You'll always have consumer grade off the shelf options for everyone, but I truly like the design of the smaller notebooks. It would be nice to see full HD on a small screen. Years from now, maybe full HD will have a whole other definition and resolution.
As to your statement, it will be more than interesting to see if the the M11x is the launching pad into the next phase of ULV and just smaller notebooks in general. I have all the confidence in the world we will be seeing a lot more from this section and cross sections including GPU's. -
Rachel, thanks for the teardown link. So guyyyy, except for the keyboard ribbon connector, would you say the rest of the teardown is pretty straight-forward?
Mossberg review in the WSJ says 4-5 hours battery life on the M11X, so that's very respectable. Too heavy for my purposes though (also not stylistically appropriate for business meetings!) -
Yes the rest of the tear down was without too much fuss. For me, it is one of those "If I can do it anyone can do it" with one caveat, and that is be careful with the ribbon cable. ALSO!!!
the side panel where the USB's and Firewire are can be a bit stubborn, as well as the top part of the palmrest near the actual hinge to the screen that rounded hinge part can be a little difficult and you have to work it gently to pry it loose.
I pre-ordered the M11x. The weight is really not all that much compared to the TT. especially since the TT is one of the lightest netbook sized notebooks out there. As for the looks, I couldn't agree more as far as business goes. That is partially why I am hanging onto my TT. -
Rachel, howaboutnow, ......ANYONE>>>??
Does anyone know where I can get ahold of an X18-M 160G G2 drive?
I can't find one anywhere.
I bought a used 80G (G1) drive from a coworker who upgraded to the Kingspec.
Kingspec doesn't support TRIM, how important is this feature really?
I would go after the Kingspec also, but the Intel 160 seems so awesome!
I'd give up 100GB (256GB kingspec vs 160GB intel) for faster write/read speeds.
Please someone let me know! I haven't found any on ebay or the internet. I thought I had ordered one but they were back ordered. -
guyyyy, this post that was posted a few pages back sums up a lot of peoples feelings about the G1 Intel drive.
http://forum.notebookreview.com/showpost.php?p=5739582&postcount=1248
Howboutnow posted that you can now get the firmware upgraded if you flash it yourself but i don't know anyone who has tried this.
Some benchmarks was posted for the kingspec drive here.
http://forum.notebookreview.com/showpost.php?p=5522652&postcount=33
I also posted some for my Samsung G2 drive here.
The Samsung appears to be slightly faster but you probably won't notice the difference.
http://forum.notebookreview.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=40894&d=1258548845
I don't know where to get the G2 Intel drive. -
I didn't have a problem finding the G2 drive -- I just ordered one from NCIX. Directdial.com has them too. The NCIX price is more expensive, but they price match.
Thanks for the tips guyyyy, I really look forward to the upgrade (and hope I have better luck than you...). I'm still on Vista, so I'll be going to Windows 7 and 4GB ram at the same time. -
Thanks for all the info Rachel. I found one on NCIXUS, but it says Postville. Is there a difference between the Postville moniker and mainstream moniker?
Thanks in advance anyone!
Mr. T,
did you get a Postville or mainstream? THANKS! -
I didn't even notice the "postville" until you mentioned it! I googled around, it seems that postville refers to all the 34nm G2 drives. So that's indeed what I got.
-
Rachel --
If i wasn't clear in my earlier post, there is a firmware upgrade for G1 versions however it still doesn't support TRIM command.
I have to say, i think the X18 G1's are a steal right now compared to the steep premium you pay for the G2's. -
I just paid $600 USD, MAN I have to stop spending money like a mad man, my girlfriend's has a baby on the way!
M11x and SSD are my last purchases for a long while.
Mr. T,
I figured as much, I wonder what the "Mainstream" one is.... They both seem to have almost the same G2 mfr number.
I wrote and asked intel about the availability of these drives, and I just have a magnet for robotic answers when I ask questions. Support staff at companies these days no longer inquire about the questions customers ask. They no longer use critical thinking. When you call and talk to them, they read from scripts and say "I can help you with that one" and "Thanks for that one"
via email they give you generic blanket answers.
I bought my SSD from NCIXUS, It may have been an impatient mistake, as I have been reading and heard rumors that a 1.8" 320GB drive is in the works at intel.
Guess We will see, in which case I will not but because I have a baby on the way, but I'll be watching.......salivating.........and contemplating my next move!
Thanks all!
That is it for now -
My fellow TT owners --
I just recently purchased one of these from eBay. I got it in yesterday and i have to say i am pleased at the deal. If you need/want another power supply for your TT, this is a way cool one for a heluva deal. Here is the link, the guy says he has 2 more left.
http://cgi.ebay.com/Sony-Vaio-VGP-AC16V10-TX-TT-TZ-Series-SLIM-AC-Adapter_W0QQitemZ300394231410QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLaptop_Adapters_Chargers?hash=item45f0e43672#ht_811wt_1165
I am in NO WAY affiliated with this guy. All i know is i bought one, got it in and used it and it works. Plus, it is slimline with a neat carry case. -
It is much bigger than the original one and seems that the plug wire is short.
Awaiting on your comment -
Hey, a short thing is the short body of buddha; a long thing is the long body of buddha.
It's $40 bucks. It's brand new, Sony. Neat, compact case. Yes, the plug wire is shorter, which requires the adapter itself to sit close to the notebook, unlike the original which can sit on floor due to its long plug wire cord. The adapter itself is long (twice as) and skinny and not as fat as the one shipped with our TT's.
It's a backup. It works for me. -
Hi, I'm new but have been lurking off and on for ages.
I have one of these and it's a total fail in practicality. Because the cord is so short, whenever you pick the laptop up, you have this stick dangling. It's also awkward. If you sit with the laptop in your lap, there's no real place to put it.
What you gain in slimming the overall assembly, you lose in usability.
Just my opinion, of course.
I have a tt180 and recently had my tt190 with the bluray and SSD crack to pieces.

Crack to pieces? What on earth happened?
