    ^^^^Wouldn't you possibly run into problems with power as well if it does fit??? Since the i5 takes a max 35 and the i7 is 45? not sure just throwing it out there.

    Does anyone else have a touchpad that seems to be not attached/glued down in one corner? On mine in the upper right corner it periodically makes a "clicking" noise. Like it is not glued down or whatever. It isn't all the time but every once in a while when I move my finger to scroll it makes that noise and I can feel it go up/down. Not really a deal breaker since it works and isn't coming up...which is the weird thing.

    Also, does anyone elses mouse act slow and spaz out on startup? Again, periodically when Windows starts I try to move my mouse but it doesn't respond. It only moves horizontally and sometimes it just sits there showing the horizontal scroll icon. Then after everything loads up it works normally. Just really weird since I did a clean install already...may do another one.

    Either that, or I have a gnome living under my touchpad that is making the noise and takes it over until the driver zaps it once loaded...

    Can you fit two hard drives into the CW at the same time? I was thinking about getting a 40GB SSD to boot from and then having a secondary hard drive for storage.

    Guys, can anyone please confirm this for me? It'll be very quick and easy :frown:

    Just run the cpuz to see which package (socket type) your CW27 has.

    For 32bit OS
    For 64bit OS

    Thanks! I guess 620M will be fine (crossed fingers) :D

    @delihocagazi

    If memory serves me right, there were only 2 owners who noticed the fan noise in this whole thread. Again if I remember it correctly, they can only hear the fan when using it on a quiet room.

    No it does not. Here in Sweden its only the F and E series that seems to either have fan noise problem or the high pitch noise that the E series seems to suffer from.

    thx for the pic. i don't see how the second HD will stay in place if it's installed w/o some type of bracket though. also there would be this huge hole on the side of the laptop if the blu ray was removed, no?

    evident, scroll back about 30 pages and you can see description of replacing optical drive to SDD. theres like 2 pages discussing how to do it and yes, a few ppl did it.

    for the fan issue, yes i can hear something but it didnt bother me and for a bonus, cw's fan is certainly working like a refrigerator.

    How are you all doing fellow CW owners. I was going to make a new thread for this, but I decided to post this issue here instead to see if anyone can help.

    I have recently preformed a clean install on my 27FX using the 'F10 key on boot-up and then ending the VAIORecv.exe process before its initiation' method. Installed all drivers through Vaio Care, and updated others from Sony's website.

    Now I'm having issues with choppy video at 1080P and what feels like slower performance, instead of faster. My memory usage is only down to 1.1G instead of the original 1.3G, and processes are cut from 85+ to about 60.
    (On a side note, my two year old install of XP on my desktop with MANY more programs and games is using 300MB of its total memory... what the heck is up with win7?)

    The question is: Does anyone have a clue as to what is causing the choppy HD playback and reduced performance?

    thanks for the tip, i shoulda used the search in this thread. i'm not going to be doing this anytime soon (SSDs are still insane expensive) but it's nice to know that I can. sucks that I gotta remove the blu ray, but it's not too often that i use it anyways.

    yes. just follow the order listed on the drivers thread. you won't be able to use the brightness buttons until AFTER the nvidia drivers are installed.

    Hi, I would like to ask about the battery life, weight, and build quality of the CW series.
    Also, does the GT330M support switchable graphics? if not is there a plan for implementing it?
    Is the motherboard PM55 or HM55?
    How is this compared to the Envy 15?
    Thanks

    Can't answer all but a couple only since I haven't got mine yet.

    1) GT330M not switchable.
    2) PM55

    Just an FYI: Some members reported having the battery drain issue (sleep and shut down) and some with battery meter bug only.

    No answer can be given with that. You need to be more specific on your question. like, idle temp, medium load, etc.

    Oh sorry for my mistake, I meant when my CPU idles then its temp is about 45-48*C, and when I play game, it increases to 58-60*C but never reach to 65*C, I live in Asia and I wonder if my notebook temp like that is ok.

    Hi all, seriously thinking of buying a cw2, and probably the i3 version then. Is there big difference between i3 and i5? And what's your impressions from the cw2 in genereal, build quality, and the screen (it's better then the E-series I've heard), is it good to look at, I'll sit any hours each day with work, but familystuff/hobby too. No movies though. The occasional gaming. I'll choose the lower res screen cause high res is straining for my eyes with all the tiny text etc.

    Extra note: swapping the harddivre for a SSD, easy or no? I've acutally heard of people doing it easily but is there some sort of sticker in the way so Sony can tell if it's done, might screw up the warranty?

    Built - good
    Looks - average
    HDD swap - very good
    Res - (debatable)

    Newer type? Yes
    Quad Core? No, both are Dual Core with Hyper-Threading Technology

    Intel Turbo Boost Technology:
    i3 = No
    i5 = Yes
