Usually any laptop with preinstalled windows systems with program features comes with a rescue partition drive. From there you should be able to do a factory reset.

There should be some cd recovery that followed with your laptop or a manual how to access the rescue partition drive. Usually when you start up your laptop, there should be a short window message that ask if you want to boot up into their bootup utility implemented from the partition drive, something like "press F1 to boot up into..." or something along the line.

If you cant find the manual, I am pretty sure any instructions is available at their website.

I can also confirm that the newer drivers worked. Was a bit tricky because first i tried installing them on the intel card and it showed the installation and everything but in device manager it still showed the older driver version.

I switched to the Radeon card and installed again and then it worked properly.

In that case I suggest you get the F22 instead of the CB. It comes with an even better screen than l502x, has good speakers, same GPU as l502x and comes with Quad Core CPU. :)

I just browsing and downloading, but the temperature getting hotter
it comes when I switch the thermal control strategy to the balance or performance mode,

    performance mode

    silent mode

if I switch to silent mode, the temperature is decreasing, but the performance is not good, laggy.

before I update the bios, I don't have an issue with the heat like this.

how can I do to make the fan to high rate ?

well i mean performance mode... hmm, it is wierd... well all right, AMD is working, and it gives alot of heat... but thermal performance mode should have been able to disharge heat... where do you use your vaio? table?

Try to use it on table not on laptop fan... Laptop fan like that is double edge sword if you don't know the circulation of the laptop itself

In safe mode, the card wouldn't accelerate fully, so it's not going to be worked up enough to cause a heat issue. And it's doubtful it's a virus.

It sounds like you may have loss some fan functionality, especially if performance mode isn't working to discharge heat well enough.

    Best,
    Cassy

Okay I finally made my mind. Reaching my inner self, I still want the the l502x, it soothes me enough to not really being bothered by Dell's service in my case. I will make a final attempt to have them replace my laptop. It cant be fair that I am being held up because Dell and the company that maintains their product, cant communicate properly. Dell told me that it is very unfortunate situation but those support guys could be a bit more flexible about their terms of law and sort out hte problem so I dont get caught up in their mishap.

If it isnt working I think ill just reorder a new one, however will be losing about 35 USD on shipping returnment.

Silent mode reduces performance so that heat generation is also reduced. So there should be a reduction in temperature just by virtue of that, regardless of the fan.

Regardless, a clean install sounds like a good direction.

    Best,
    Cassy

Well, it's kind of a fan control, but thermal control is more accurate as it gives you a few options to reduce heat:

Turn the fan up, turn performance down, or something in between.

Unfortunately, these are extremely simplified compared to other programs, but I'm assuming that for the case in question, fan speed is no longer increasing appropriately with the heat level.

I'm hoping the bios update didn't somehow disable a heat sensor, but if no one else is having issues then hopefully a reinstall will fix it. Though, maybe a third party fan control program is just needed now.

    Best,
    Cassy

SSD failure rate is nowhere near platter HDD rates. If anything, a failing SSD still lets you get data off of it, as only writing to the drive ends, reading is still possible. HDD's that can't spin can't give you anything. I'll take SSD's any day

depends on the model and use. For home use, 15 years are a very low estimate. I barely get 4 years out of platter hdds before they click and fail.

Just download the newest driver package of Sonus website they should install fine.

Just be sure your laptop is running on the amd card when installing them. I tried installing them while kn the intel HD3000 and it didnt show the drivers actually updated in device manager...

theorically yes, but how about real life using... i see a performance degradation on SDD of my friend, even just 1 - 1,5 years... would it last 3-5 years before it reached the writes cycle ends?

by the way, does anynone know, what's the max core clock and memory clock, for 6630M with maintaning stability? i want to OC it... well, can it reach the same number like the 6730M?

How is your friend using it? Recent articles show that even with 30 GB of writing per day, modern SSD's have lifespans of 10 years. If he's writing over 30GB a day, which he must if he's having degradation after 1 year, then an SSD is not for him. It's not for that kind of use, which is more of a server type use (30GB a day, damn). That's platter HDD in a raid or something.

Real life average use has estimates at 10+ years. The current life on my SSD according to various analysis programs has it at 12 years right now at my current usage. 12 years, show me any platter HDD with that life span. Haven't encountered it yet in my years.

Is CB2S1's display a way better than ASUS N53SV FHD visually?
    Can't watch them both.
Both glossy, same res, same bright, contrast ~1:175 vs ~1:675 (sony better). Is it worth the money and performance difference (asus better)?

    @avmaxfan and others

if you're going to choose, what will you choose

Corsair SSD Force 3 120GB ( not the GT ) or Patriot SSD Wildfire 120GB?

i need some opinion on this... as it is both quite a good competitor... i know, corsair has a problem with their SSD force 3 and recalled them, now in the market only the revision remained... and it is safe by the review i read these past 2 days...

then Patriot SSD has a solid speed, and much better with compressible data... but it is worth the 50 dollars in price from Corsair SSD force 3 120GB?

actually i want an M4, but no distributors picks the ssd products

Both seem great, with the PAtriot being a hair faster than the Corsair Force 3. I would not say that the performance difference is worth 50$ though. Maybe 15-20$ but not more.

According to the writer having a very high contrast screen is good for:
Wouldn't say Asus screen is bad per se, but between these 2, I guess Vaio got the edge.
