Hey, you realize this is already next week ?![]()
Pity that I could not order the 4650 version (4500 only in Belgium)

I was wondering if I should get a white or black Duo 13....Is the white more susceptible to scuffing and marks vs. the black?? Does anyone have a preference and why? Thank you for your time.

Here is an Interesting comparison between HD5000 and HD4400:
AnandTech | The 2013 MacBook Air Review (13-inch)
I am not sure the difference is worth $270. It will be unnoticeable in the real life use I think. -
-
Nice find, thanks!
I guess HD5000 on the 4650u is limited by the 15W TDP. Well, since I won't have access to this CPU (at least for now) I guess it won't be so bad with the 4500u. It would be interessting to compare two Duo 13, one with a 4500u and another with 4650u as Anandtech didn't compare the same laptop brand and good cooling and form factor plays an important role in performance of a CPU of this caliber!

My ship date was also pushed back from 6-28 to the 7-26!!! This is ridiculous, what is the point of estimated ship dates if its going to be this off. seriously thinking about cancelling my order if Sony doesn't give me a discount on the purchase. -
-
-
Haha, glad you weren't waiting for the Lenovo Helix or Kupa X15, those things have been pushed back many months!
-
-
Did anyone else notice the price has dropped $200 on the custom laptop???? So I am supposed to pay more and have to wait another month now for my laptop? Emailing to cancel my order right now!
-
-
-
ok, this is seriously ridiculous. First, I see that my order of the core i7 4650u that I ordered on 6-9 (initial estimated shipment 6-28) was moved back nearly a month to 7-26. Now, I see that the same customizable is $200 cheaper and is estimated to be shipped on 7-5, three weeks earlier than the laptop I preordered over 2 weeks ago!
are the early adopters being punished horribly here? Im seriously thinking about cancelling my order now, but I have serious reservations about the whole "estimated shipping" time system, which I believe is completely convoluted. what do you guys think? is it worth cancelling and reordering and hopefully getting the notebook at an earlier date (but risking getting it at an even later date?)
just think this is ridiculous. maybe the system is set up to bait and switch people to preorder the computer thinking theyre actually going to get it at a reasonable time, then hitting them with a month-long delay due to actual supply constraints. -
actually, I DONT see a $200 decrease. I thought I did, but I didn't consider tax. Maybe it was the automatic 7% discount for students, which I already used.
-
If you try to build a new i7 4650 now, estimate ship date is Sept 6th.
My order was suppose to be shipped on 6/28 but now its moved to 7/19. Another one we have with i5 says "its being built" eventually I am going to see the thing sooner or later but I can't really wait anymore.... -
I'm receiving my DUO13 today, with i7-4500u and 8GB. One week before expected delivery date (3/7/2013). I'll send first impressions

Sony have been just announced here in Russia and it cost $2300 for the base model. It is literally cheaper to fly to US, buy it there and come back.
-
-
-
It's not announced here though, if the price is as told, I'll probably go for the Surface Pro or wait for it's Haswell refresh. -

Sony Vaio Duo 13 tablet bemutató videó | Tech2.hu - YouTube <- this video confirms that VAIO Duo 13 made in japan. unlike china vaio pro, cheap quality.
pause @ 1:57min in full hd mode, you can see the "made in japan" label. thats why its expensive! good quality always comes with a price! -

Only two small annoyances, SIM Card slot is micro-SIM size, i'll need to change my data SIM. Also i'm really missing the finger print scanner, SONY has included a facial recognition feature but i've not tested it.
In the box were included the wifi hotspot and the hdmi-vga adapter.
I've not really used a lot the pen but i know what to expect, i've an n-trig device (HP Slate 500) and a wacom device (Galaxy Note 10.1), i know that i'm losing responsiveness (and the f.....g battery annoyance on the pen) but it`s enough to take notes.
So far. It seems a good replacement for the combo galaxy note 10.1/Vaio Z2 -

Pics please.
I am getting impatient...I might just buy the i7-4500U version. -
I'm writing this with the pen . I used n-trig pen for several months and Quality's really good for note taking, only that ntrig pen produce more noise when hit the glass. size is perfect you can write quite comfortably, accuracy is really good, even at screen borders.Tomorrow i'll use it in several meetings, but i don't expect surprises,
Sorry but my drawing level is like a two years old child, no help there. -
-
Congratulations! Could you please tell us how the screen feels? Does it wobble when touched in a laptop mode? And isn't the text too small in both metro and desktop mode?

Question to owners, any fan noise while playing a full screen 1080p video?

Sony Vaio Duo 13 review - a big step forward -
With some people actually getting their hands on the Duo 13... I am getting really really anxious!! July 5th sounds like eons away...
-
I noticed a pending charge reappeared on my credit card today and it's the full amount this time. The estimated ship date is still delayed (7/26/2013) but I wonder if they'll ship my i7-4650U order sooner after all...
-
-
Got impatient and ordered the i7-4500 version a few hours ago from Sony HK. Managed to grab the last one. Pickup only in two weeks...

I was going to CTO one from the US but it seems like there is a long wait for it so I decided to get the i7-4500u. I can still cancel the order...
