Yeah, with Visual C+ 2010 x86, it worked perfectly ! Thanks you two !

It's a very cool job ! Thanks a lot Shurcool. You can not imagine how much I was looking for the opportunity to do this

Maybe it would make more sense what you says, it would be also great !
But I do not want to give you too much work ! ;) But if you can also do this it would be awesome !

hello to all! just got a z 138gg for more than a week now. i was using a bluetooth mouse and its just works perfect until after 3 days, it just wont connect. i opened the control panel and the device is still there. i uninstall it then install it again . it was installed but it wont connect. i tried to update the driver of the bluetooth mouse but the latest driver was already installed. the mouse is a sony vgp-bms10. i tried to use this on my other vaio and it works fine. any recommendations would be great. thanks

It could be that you bumped the switch on the front that turns off the bluetooth. Also make sure it's not just that the mouse batteries ran down.

hello, I've been noticing that when I close the chrome browser, the screen automatically turns off, then when I touch or press something, it will come back, it's just like "turn off the display" function. By the way, do you think using the nircmd.exe for turning off the screen using the s1 button affects this one?

    That's a weird thing and I don't think it's related to nirCmd.

But to be sure, remove NirCmd and see what happens on Chrome.

I don't understand... the Z1X's are all pretty much the same... only difference is with CPU options... If you wanted to know about the successor (it's not out yet), look here:

    Unfortunately they are just speculations....

Yes, I want the same core-i7 but sandy bridge type and possibly 1333hz RAM speed ( if that's possible)...,slightly better battery life , and similar features to my current vaio z...Unfortunately as the topnotch vaio z is made in Japan which is currently in crisis..it might just be a mere pipedream

There are no reviews out on the Z2X's anyways and if beaups is to be trusted (I trust him) than most of the "speculation" is actually factual. It most likely will have an i7 SB processor as beaups mentioned that it has a full-powered dual-core notebook processor (not some ULV/LV processor that's in the MBA or the Samsung 9 series). It will have ~8 hours of batt life (that's just a result of the SB processor's being much more efficient with battery management). Sony better have 1333 MHz RAM since they're using SB. But yes, the disaster in Japan does cause some concerns (that's why the Vaio SA was delayed).

If you mean VAIO SA and SB, is this what you imply?

    VAIO SA specs
Sony Vaio SA Series Notebook Specifications & Price
    VAIO SB specs
Sony Vaio SB Series Notebook Specs | Price

IMO they are not good first impression... but .hoping they can configure a better combination to be a fitting replacement to the Z series...

Did you bother reading through this?

    http://forum.notebookreview.com/sony/556513-new-sony-vaio-z-speculation-news-thread.html

The new Z is supposed to be a MBA competitor and more similar to the Thinkpad X1 now that it's been confirmed, since both will have full powered dual-core laptop processors. Also, the new Z will have a 1080p screen, thunderbolt and i7 SB processor.

In any case, how is the SA not impressive? it's pretty much an upgraded Z w/ SB processor, upgraded integrated GPU, upgraded dedicated GPU (~15-20% faster) and the rest is pretty much the same, not to mention the 8 hour battery life and even longer with the extended battery. (Albeit, it is a 13.3" screen and has a larger bezel...)

But hopefully this is just temporary as it finishes something, then it should get back to being idle.

Unless I can see a final specimen of the SA then maybe I will change my perspective that its is the rightful replacement of topnotch VPCZI series...

maybe the layout is, but the tray itself is sunken into the chassis so the screen, when closed, closes tight like a macbook.

The SA/SB are of the same design, except the SB is a lower-end more consumer model. Their pedigree seem to be a fusion of the S series and Z series. While the new Z (announced today if you look at the Z speculation thread, we have pics from a Sony conference) seems to be a fusion of the X and Z series. The SA/SB is a 13.3" and it's got a hella large bezel... unfortunately. It is thinner than the current Z though (think MBP <-- SA/SB is a hair thinner though)

If you use HWMonitor, you can see how much exactly is the degradation, and that's why Sony has the 80% battery care...

Didn't Sony just outsource most of their notebook designing to Quanta or another ODM or something not too long ago? Could the VAIO SA/SB series have been designed by those ODMs? Could the upcoming VAIO Z series also be designed by the same ODM? Maybe this is the "spectacular" results achieved through outsourcing?

Yes the sunken keyboard and crap bezel, it just screams crap!

The TZ was probably the nicest looking design. I like the VGN-Z ok. The VPC-Z is quite handsome as well. All of these are winners. Why dump this winning look, feel, design. There is nothing else like it out there.

Well it's not the keyboard you're disappointed with, it's the chassis treatment that you don't like.

I personally like the TT and TZ. I think the VPC-Z > VGN-Z because the bezel is much more clean. The two integrated top feet are much nicer on the VPC than the multiple dots on the VGN.

    http://www.jp.sonystyle.com/
What do you think about this folks?.
This cost about 7k USD fully loaded with
1 terabyte 4x 250 gigSSD with blue ray disc, 1980x 1080 display, WIN7 ultimate, but not graphics and processor mentioned; there is USB3, etc...

There is actually no image but just the link in sony japan ..
I just used google chrome to go the http://www.jp.sonystyle.com and selected the vaio Z ,have the japanese translated to English then selected on of the three options of vaioz. I selected the top of the line which is the third which was priced in Japanese yen.
I configured my preferred Vaio Z unit and converted the Japanese currency to USD and got approximately 7k USD for the selection I mentioned.
Unfortunately I tried using IE8 to do the same but it won't.
Not sure if other browsers would show the same....

    How about trying this link...

Mines has also deteriorated 10%... and my warranty died yesterday. I called in two days ago to request my palmrest be fixed as well as my hinges be tightened... I'm the one with the horribly worn out palmrests and the hinges I can do myself, but i needed some more ammo to throw at them. I asked about the battery but as long as Vaio Battery Care says that battery function is "good" i dont think they'll replace. I'll tell you guys all how it goes... I'm hoping to get onsite repair (as i'm a student and i've got finals soon so i need my laptop) I'll see if i can wrangle out both a new palmrest and new battery w/ onsite service (or i'll just ask them for the part since I'm out of warranty and thus i can replace it myself)

Yep, very frustrating - especially when after these updates you also find a queue of optional updates - all security patches & impacting performanace rather than adding features - ouch,

Incidently, Intel released 13.5.0 of WIFI driver & Viao Care updated - so, its not only MS.

My laptop spends more time updating than be productive thise days :)
    Happy Days,

This updates are becoming unbearable...It slows down a supposed to be fast laptop- VPCZ1. Look my boot up time had rised considerably and even my google chrome browser appears to be non responsive as this shockwave kept crashing.... it keeps saying a plugin become unresponsive...How about if I just make a system restore and nullify this updates would it be better in the long run? I also want to stop this updates because its not improving the performance of what is supposed to be high performing notebook.....
I would like to hear your suggestions....

are you using the newer Chrome? maybe shockwave hasn't been updated to support it fully? I don't know... but i'm not experiencing any detrimental updates (in relation to performance and overall user experience). Then again, i don't have the adobe bundle, so... yeah.

I am a new VPCZ134GX/S owner and I am having a problem every time I boot up Win 7 Pro (64-bit) which came installed. The screen flickers at the login screen, kind of annoying. I have downloaded just about every driver update I could think of. Is this related to the hybrid graphics and is there a fix for it?

That's fine because your Vaio probably boots on integrated graphics, then when it notices your switch is on Speed, it just switches then. I get it too when i boot into stamina.

    see it's normal:

Where is your graphics switch set to? is it speed, stamina, or auto.

I normally don't use auto. If you want speed, Set it to speed, if you want stamina, set it to stamina (myself, I tend to leave it in stamina more than 90% of the time).

I tried update now but it says...update server is not available ( error 1)..

So you imply that adobe itself is one of the culprit..? How about if I uninstal some adobe tools would it not impact on the performance of other adobe products preinstalled in this VPCZ12 model?
Just last night the adobe reader was updated and it seems to slow down the boot up time by 20 second.....surprising indeed...
Can I use simpler pdf reader instead such as NitroPDF...etc.?

I did tried unchecking the adobe and other unnecessary programs during start up but the boot up time seem remain unchanged...
i have changed the normal start up in msconfig to selective start up..
What is perplexing after the you log in with your password the window the situation remains the same...
Previously before this continuous updates the boot time was faster....
Have anybody experience the same thing? How did you sort it out?
