A lot of people seem to get that error for different reasons. Here might be the solution for you:

On NVidia Site about PureVideoHD ( http://www.nzone.com/object/nzone_pvhd_build.html), it says that we should have Forceware v.158.18 (for vista) or greater for 8 series. Have anyone here tried any drivers from this version and above (from laptopvideo2go oviously) and if yes, which do you recommend for hd video accelararion? Thanks.

If anyone still has the black wallpaper (with vaio written in white in the middle) that comes with the laptop, could you upload/send it to me?

    Thanks

Yeah, i tried a few of them and i'm running with the 162.18 right now. They seem to be stable for all my applications and get the highest benchmarks in 3DMark06 so far, about 20% higher then the original installed drivers.

Do you guys mind posting the URL to the drivers your using?
I had 0 luck with 2 from laptopvideo2go, it somehow made OpenGL not work.

Are you sure you downloaded the right driver for your OS, and did you downloaded the modded .inf file and copy it to the driver folder from laptovideotogo before installing it?

Maybe you should read the FAQ first, it should make everthing clear to you.

Yeah, I did use Vista drivers and did replace the inf with the modified one. I've used their drivers successfully on my desktop which has an older nV card that isnt supported anymore.

I'm looking to get a Seagate momentus 7200.2 hdd for my FZ190 in the near future. I have never installed a harddrive before, so I was wondering if I needed one of those kits that you can use to transfer all the data from your old hard drive to your new hard drive, or if the kit's included. Thanks

I'm not sure to what kind of kit you are revering to, but usually those drives come with ehm, nothing. Just buy a usb hdd case (maybe thats the kit you refer to?) in witch you can place the new drive and copy the data from your old drive before you install it in your FZ. They cost around $15 or so and you can keep using it with the drive you take out of your Vaio (it turns it in to an external hdd basically).

edit; i just noted your signature; how do you like that VX? i'm thinking of buying one myself but still wondering if i shouldn't get a bluetooth mouse to save a usb port.

Hello all. I was wondering if any of you have heard of this problem with the FZ's built-in cam, and you found the solution. My cam was working right after I bought it although it did fail a couple of times where Yahoo Msgr and Windows live couldn't detect it. But now, all of a sudden, it won't work anymore at all. I've used sony's chat support, reinstalled drivers, used ms hotfix, reseted BIOS but no luck. "Imaging Devices" does not even show up in device manager, so it seems the laptop is not "seeing" the connection of the cam. Once, after the laptop came back from "sleep", I got a tray message saying the driver has been installed and hardware is ready for use, and it worked during that session. But nothing since then. It seems like the driver is not compatible with Vista? I'm using the original driver. Any thoughts on what I can do? Thanks all for your expertise.

    Majleonj

PS. checking the forums and google, it seems a lot of people are experiencing this. might be Vista...

Thanks for the info. How about HD Video, bluray/vc1/h-264, do they perform well with PowerDVD 7.3 for example? Have you tested maybe?

Hey guys, I close to having the funds to purchase my new laptop and I'm most likely getting the FZ. But I do have a question, is the ram in this model hard to replace/add? I think the ram is a bit overpriced in the CTO and didn't know if it would be worth it to get my own post purchase.

It is VERY easy. Just make sure you order a configuration that leaves one of the two slots open so you can ADD rather than REPLACE memory sticks.

The driver is definitely compatible with Vista. What is the camera's status in device manager? You might try uninstalling the camera using the Device manager and then reboot and let it rediscover the device.

That's NOT good. One more thing to try, in Control Panel run the "Add Hardware" applet. Let it search for new hardware and see if it finds the camera. If not you are down to two options, neither are pleasant. Option 1 restore the machine to it's out of the box state and see if the camera is functional. Option 2, send it in for a repair.

Does anyone know what "teredo tunneling pseudo-interface" is for? It was showing a "!" in device manager so I uninstalled it in hopes of getting my cam to work (thought maybe it was conflicting since cam is not showing up in device manager). I restarted laptop and it doesn't detect it this "teredo tunneling pseudo-interface" anymore... is this essential and if so, how do i get it back? I use mostly wireless and everything seems to be working ok (except for the original cam problem).Thanks...

How do you connect to the internet? Are you on a college campus somewhere? This might have been installed as part of your connectivity to the internet.

Google search for: Teredo tunneling interface

If it disconnects, it shows an X mark. If it shows an exclamation mark, then it's something with your router, problem with automatic ip or encryption. What Wifi router do u have? I use a draytek vigor and I haven't any problems.

Hey I've had this problem with the wlan aswell, and I tried solving it by downloading drivers from Intel (didn't really help, no).

What I have found, though, is that if you try to force your IPv4 to a certain local IP, you'll get the problem much (much) more often than if you set it to default. Try that! :)

I didn't think that windows media player ever supported avi files. You had to download the divx codec. Just go to www.divx.com and download their free version, then you'll be able to watch avi files on any media player

need help with sony fz190. works fine until Phptoshop PS3 comes in play. Looks like nvidia 8400 GT garbles gradient colors palet into lines across the palet windows. Get even worse when at least one photo is open. Reinstalled video drivers no help. Do not know what is the problem. My CT notebook no on board dedicated video performs better in photoshop than this one.

network/sharing center - manage network connections - right-click on the wireless connection - properties - ipv4 - properties - obtain ip adress automatically

Thats funny (or rather; not), that doesn't like it works the way it's suppose to. I have no problems at all with photoshop myself. It does sound like a driver problem to me, but since you've already tried that...
Could you post a screenshot perhaps?

just so you know the wireless and bluetooth cant be on together at the same time for a long time because the wireless disconnects after 2 hours...pretty piss poor if you ask me,anyway i traded it in today for a h.p with the same functions and i got half my money back,i think the sony fz11s if overpriced for what it offers!!Im sad that my second sony vaio turned out to be a heap of junk (sorry guys but i am intitled to share my thoughts right?)

@storm3016 said.. Vaio's are fine, but sometimes the people that work with them are a little messed up.....I HOPE YOUR NOT POINTING ANY FINGERS! ;-)

Sure you're entitle to your opinion john74. But if you don't even know where to find your wireless settings maybe you shouldn't be messing with it, or pass judgment upon it's functionality. I actually have that same model and have no problems whatsoever with my w-lan nor my bluetooth, therefor i find it hard to believe the problem was with your machine. So frankly that only leaves you...

I hope your happy with your HP mate, cheers ;)

You might be right about those last options. Which sucks since I'm about to deploy so won't have time to do the repair option. It seems really strange though... it doesn't seem like there's anything wrong with the camera itself since when Vista "sees" it, which has happened a couple times now, it works perfectly with all applications. It just seems like the driver is not communicating properly with the OS because all of a sudden, a tray message will come up saying "driver installed, hardware ready for use" when I installed/reinstalled the driver days ago. Then reboot or sleep, its gone again. It feels like a software issue... and that a fix or update that comes out from Sony or MS would suddenly resolve it (or maybe I'm missing one that exists). Maybe I did something like install something or changed a setting or unclicked a startup/services program that caused it to stop working (I've been looking into this though and can't really find anything). Anyone know what exactly needs to be running in startup or services for the cam?

Guys what's is the % memory utilization in your FZ's when it is idle?. Mine has 30%. Is this normal?

I think dwm.exe is the biggest ram drainer apart from some svchost.exe processes.
