    $250 off Circuit City for the SZ120

    Well I broke down and ordered it from Circuit City. $250 off if you order online and then I picked it up at the store.

    Let me tell you, my gf works at Sony and her discount is no better than this. Quite sad but true.. laptops barely yield 10-15% off and this is approximately 12% off!!

    So far I am hating all this crap they preinstall on it. All this anti-spyware, norton, etc. I just like a fresh install of XP on my laptop!

    Otherwise I like it. It is a bit larger than I wanted (was considering the TX series) but my older PCG-V505EL (12") was waaaaay dated and I needed more power, more battery, etc. I was also going to wait to buy the SZ170 for its builtin EDGE card, but alas.. couldn't wait till April (which is what my gf's internal ordering contact said the date for the SZ170 would be for internal purchases -- sounds about right given all the smoke I'm reading on this group about the delays everywhere).

    I kind of was concerned about the ultra-thin screen of the premiums anyways. The TX screen is so flimsy I am afraid if a sharp object was left on the outside cover of the screen (say while in my bag), it would permanently damage the display from the backside!

    $250 in rebates but still, that aint a bad deal at all.

    I configured my 140 through SonyStyle with very similar specs except I got the silver keyboard and an extended battery. All that came to $60 cheaper than the list price at Circuit City. The biggest guestion I have is whether the 110/120 comes with a different Go7400 than the 140/160. If not, I may eschew the extended battery for now in exchange for not having to wait.
