    dear members,

i would like to know either the performance and the battery life for Vaio VGN-SZ430 N/B with these specs :
    Intel® Core™ 2 Duo Processor T7200 (2.0 GHz, FSB 667, Cache 4 MB) , 2GB DDR2, 160 GB 5400 RPM HDD, DVD±RW, 56K Modem, NIC, WiFi, Bluetooth, Fingerprint, VGA Nvidia GeForce Go 7400 335MB (shared), Camera, 13.3" WXGA, Win Vista Business

    for battery life ?
    - how long it will long last ? in speed mode and stamina mode ? also what are you doing to get that maximum time ?

    for performance ?
    - will it beat current games such as company of heroes, COD 4, NFS pro street, or Euro 2008 ?? on what settings ?

NOTE: I prefer answer who experienced about this sz4 series. but I kindly grateful for any replying and comments.

    thanks and regards.

I have an sz3 with the same specs except the hd, and the battery life is approximately 3.5 hours in stamina, with wifi on, half brightness, bt off, and surfing the web

I did a post a while ago when I first got my computer of various configurations of my battery report if you want to see. It's an SZ 440 and it has all my settings on how I configured the options for battery life.

For Performance, it isn't too shabby actually. I did overclock my graphics though but even stock runs most games pretty well. Just keep the resolution down on newer games, but anything 2003 and older just go ahead and crank that resolution up to 1280x800.

I get medium graphics on F.E.A.R. with playable frame rates if that gives you any idea of how performance will be. I know for a fact it runs COD4 pretty well, on lower graphical settings though. Still looks pretty good, that game scales well. NFS Pro street I wouldn't count on playing anything but the minimum. Company of Heroes scales well too, and it relies on the CPU a lot. I think you'll be fine if you just don't expect much more than medium-low graphics on all of these games.

As for battery, the best advice I can give you maximize your battery life is: Download NHC (Notebook Hardware Control) and undervolt your processor. Also disable any devices in the device manager which you aren't using, and close that windows sidebar. That thing gave me heck. You'll get some good time out of it. I still experiment and I haven't updated that post in a while, but on stamina I've squeezed out 4h30m when I disabled everything I didn't use and did basic web surfing.

I love my SZ though =D.... But I wouldn't mind if an Ideapad U110 dropped on my lap... don't tell my laptop that though.
