    History:
    1. Replaced 640gb with 250 Samsung 840 SSD
    2. Clean installed Win 7
    3. Shrunk partition to have a new one (60gb)
    4. Clean installed Win 8 on the 60gb partition
    5. Everything worked fine

After i installed the latest Windows 8 updates though,

    1. plugging my USB3 external drives to any of the USB 3.0 ports gets them to work on USB 2.0 speeds only (Bufffalo lights up green instead of blue)
    2. plugging my USB3 external drives to any of the USB 3.0 ports, the drives work but the "Safely remove hardware.." icon doesn't show up in explorer
    3. The single USB 2.0 port still works perfectly

That said, could anyone point me to the correct USB 3.0 drivers? I havent figured out which Windows Update to rollback in order to get the USB 3 ports working properly again.

    Much obliged!

    Francis

I have S13 and upgraded to Windows 8 by fresh install.
All updates are installed. However, I don't have speed issue with USB 3.0 ports.
My Seagate 3T USB 3.0 works as expected.

Hngh. Wonder what's wrong then. Thanks for sharing.

Edit: scanned the disk with -fix file system errors-, working OK now.
