    Hi,

    I have got a VPC-Z11 with a i7 620M with advanced bios.
A moment ago, I had try some stuff with this :

    ● I first tried 3.200 GT

And then CPU-Z showed that :

    QPI Link is 1600 Mhz

    ● When I try 4.800 GT

QPI Link is 2400 Mhz just like AUTO

    ● And finally I tried 6.400 GT

QPI Link frequency was 3200 Mhz

I have used my computer many time with that last setting (QPI 6.4 GT) without any problem. I didn't pay attention much to that frequency later

I can't do any screenshot anymore, because the QPI Link doesn't get anymore higher than 2400 Mhz
Whatever I try, like 5.866 GT or 6.400 GT it's stuck to 2400 Mhz.
Except if I try 3.200 GT it get back to 1600 Mhz.

I wonder if this is normal.

What is your QPI Link frequency reported in CPU-Z ?

Isn't qpi link DDR? If so then it makes sense that it reports half speed for everything. 4800=2400. Sounds to me like your cpu doesn't support anything above the stock spec which is 4800/2400. What are you looking to gain exactly?

I'd leave it set to auto, and frankly I'd stop screwing around with it.

Yeah looks like it does not support anything higher than 4.800 GT
But it reached once 3200 for 6.400 GT.
What do I expect ? some slight more performance, I've tried few benchmarks at 1600Mhz/3.200 GT , it was about 10% lower than normal settings in certain conditions.

Ya AUTO that exactly what I do, mister pseudo-moral giver.
