    Hi
    I'm about to purchase the SR laptop and I was wondering what the difference is between classic vs platinum silver.

    I prefer glossy-look but couldn't figure out from the picture.

    Any help will be thankful.

    correct if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure that

    classic silver = matte
    platinum silver = gloss

    If I were you I'd get the matte. I have a feeling that gloss silver is made of plastic instead of magnesium alloy.

    I was able to see the difference on the silver and the pink (getting the pink for my g/f) and it looks to me like the EXACT same color, just the glossy one is simply "glossy" and looks shiny and is a bit more reflective. But the underlying color looks identical.

    not sure if its been noted before but there is also a 'classic pink' and a 'glossy pink' for the SR

    saw it in the sony canadian customise area
