There's a program called "Pixchanger", it's made by some german guys.

It doesn't erase your dead pixels, but it gives the 8 surrounding pixels a color that's half the color of the dead pixel and half the color of the background. The dead pixel gets blurred and it won't annoy you as much as it used to. It's not a perfect solution, but it makes it better, if you really can't live with it and if you're willing to sacrifice some system ressources.

I also have a red pixel though. I tend to forget where it is, because it's not visible on light backgrounds. You'll get used to it, it just can't be helped.

I would try the program! it is worth a shot! Especially if the dead pixel is starting to bug you and or distract you from your work/playing on your laptop.

Normally, if the pixel's off to the side, they definitely won't exchange it for you, but if this is really hampering your productivity, you can try and make a legitimate fuss over it and exchange it. You'll be living with this problem the whole way through, so be sure you can bear it.

    Hi Nethawk

My S2XP also has a red pixel and it drove me nuts for the first 2 weeks. Sony didn't want to know about it. If you look at their faulty pixel policy you realise that you'll need to have about 8 of these stuck pixels before they'll do anything!! The only thing I could do is to try and live with the little guy. It doesn't bother me as much now.
