Does your TZ90 plays HD - 1080p videos ? I've tried one but it seems the hardware just isn't good enough for this stuff.

What format are you trying? quicktime/wmv/avi etc?

You cant play 1080p videos unless you a monitor with a resolution of at least 1920×1080.
I mean, if you have a 1080p video, it will play at a lower resolution, but the quality would be lower. The video would be downscaled to 720p. -

I've tried a 720p video and it was running smooth. so it really looks like a hardware issue

I've just figured that even my desktop couldn't play it well, I'll try another file and report back later ..

Hey James, do a google search for CORE AVC H264 VIDEO DECODER, and failing that, a player called VLC. Either / both will allow you to play any kind of 1080p that comes your way (only H264 would be too tough for that laptop, till you get a better codec than the defaults). Oh, also check your power settings, try Always On for testing purposes. Cheers.
