    I know Z590 has this screen, but are there any other older (cheaper) models that do? Where does sony get this screen? Are there other companies that also offer this small, high resolution screen?

    As far as I can tell, Sony is the only one that offers this back-lit LED 13.1" with 1600x900 resolution.

    I can't tell you for sure 100% but when buying my z690 I looked high and low trying to find something cheaper and as awesome....I now own a Z :p

    I suggest that you either try contacting Sony for information, or get one and take the screen apart to check and see who the manufacturer is :D Or anyone currently owning one wants to volunteer the information? :p

    thanks guys. all i really wanted was to see if there was a cheaper way to get a small (13 inch ish) and high res (around 1600x900 is great).

    Is z590 the oldest notebook that has this screen?
