There isn't anything on their site and I haven't heard anything about a 17". But their 15" S series has a 1920 x 1080 IPS display. Sony is one of the only vendors that offer that kind of resolution and it's almost like having a much larger screen. If you see one in person, you'll see how much stuff you can cram onto that screen.

Sony dropped their 16.4" model (the Vaio F) with no planned successor. Like Apple, they're pulling out of the 17" market. Shame.

Thats too bad. It seems like lenovo is doing that too, with the W series. Also dell doesn't have an XPS 17.

I really like sony. Wish they had a 17 incher. :(

Meh, the F was good, but it was no Z. It has a plastic case that starts to creak and flex within 6 months of purchase, it's shockingly thick, and it didn't have a GPU as powerful as one expects for a desktop replacement of its size (the 540m). Many of the preinstalled software and "vaio care" software needed tweaking or configuring before it worked as it should. The F was far from awful, but it's not something I'd really lust after either, in retrospect. I definitely wouldn't buy another if they kept making a Vaio F.

I'd check out an Envy 17. Generally gets good reviews. Or if you have cash to spare, a 17" Precision or Elitebook.
