Accidentally drop your laptop into water. In that case, most likely they will give you a new one or give you a check. It happened on mm once. My TX was damaged in an car accident last year. I got ADH cover so I sent it in. They fixed it but the quality was very bad. Then I "accidentally" spilled some water on my TX. Then I sent it in again, this time they said it's more expensive to repair it. They determined the value of my TX was only $900. They could find some other TX for me but they didn't because it was over that $900 value. At last they just sent me a $900 check .

Doesn't ADH expire once you get the first damage repair/replacement?

Only they will know the value. Honestly, I really don't think my TXN17 worth only $900.

i asked a rep once..he said you can have it repaired infinite times within the warranty period without charges. however, i didn't ask about after a REPLACEMENT has been made. im sure the warranty would reset and you need a new one..

if you're going to do it..make sure its almost the end of the warranty and make sure u dont need a laptop for a while...who knows how long sony would take to replace/reimburse you.

guys should i just dump water on it lol. i really just want a new one, even if it was a replacement sony, cause then i would be able to get a new battery w/o paying the 100 for a new one or instead they may give me a check for its worth.

what do i do. i know this is fraud, but still idk.

drop it from a second story building and say it was an act of Jesus. The rules say... "Act of God" is not a valid excuse, but what about Jesus! Say he told you so!

    Or even Buddha!

Apple is as likely if not more likely to give you a junky repair job and they are sticklers when it comes to replacement(they constantly repair faulty MBPs but dont give you a new one.. they have the faulty Geforce8600). No brand wants to give you anything for free, except dell, because they simply acknowledge that they gave you a POS and wave a white flag and give you an upgraded spec notebook.

If you REALLY want a replacement, drop it in water, the market value should be 1:1 (me thinks) because your notebook is BRAND NEW and therefore the current gen... they may simply send you a refurb or a new one. But, i didnt find anywhere on here why you want a replacement... can someone fill me in?
