    1. WinDVD won't play blu-ray movies on my Toshiba HDTV. It says this:

"Your display configuration isn't compatible with copy protection."

It is something about it not being HDCP. Which is shocking, but not really because I bought the TV in Europe.

Does anyone know of any media players available besides WinDVD that can handle BluRay media????

    2. When I plug in the HDMI cable, it recognizes the video alright, but it does not recognize the audio. So I cannot transfer the audio to the TV itself.

Sorry, I really should mention that issue #2 is with AVI files not blu ray media.

I remember reading something about this, but I can't remember if it was here or somewhere else. Any help would truly be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Have you sorted though the FZ owners thread? I thought I saw something there. Did you get a white or black keyboard?

    RE: the Audio

There is a thread here about the procedure for enabling the Audio output to be routed to the HDMI. Use the search box at the VERY TOP of the page here. Try "HDMI AUDIO FZ"

I tried the steps located in the links above, but when i go to switch to HDMI for audio output, it's saying that it is not plugged in.

This is a pain in the @$$.

    Nate,

At the risk of stating the obvious, do you have the HDMI cable conceited when you do this? Also there were some other links in the thread I referenced. You might want to check those as well.

I have had a pretty serious issue with my FZ160 lately...since yesterday, the screen really flashes between darker and lighter shades when its on battery. Once I removed the AC plug from the laptop, (power plan already set to "power saver mode") the screen just starts flashing...sometimes its brighter and then sometimes dimmer...I tried removing the AC plug while it was still in "high performance" mode (full brightness), and first thing upon removal of the AC plug is that the brightness dims (good because that is my battery setting), but then it again quivers.

Does anyone know whats wrong with my FZ, or should I have to call Sony?

Yes, I did have the cable connected.

I did end up fixing the problem though. I uninstalled whatever driver was being used for the audio and updated it through sony's support site. Once I updated the driver for the audio it worked fine.

    Thanks for all the help.
