have recently installed a clean copy of vista on my AR51M laptop to rid it of the all the bloatware than came pre-installed.

Have managed to install all drivers & utilities and all is well except for:-

'S1' 'S2' do not funtion and the application for programming these buttons is not present.

Also the application for programming the logo lamp is also not present and stays on all the time (even when media player is operational).

All other hotkeys are working i.e. AV mode, Fn keys

It may be something I still need to install ?

Any help would be gratefully received.

Hey, me too, did a clean install and no S1 function. Doh! We need to install the Vaio Control Center.

Crap - just went into Recovery to re-load it but there is not a specific program call Control Center. Anyone know what program loads it? I have 'Setting Utility Serise" loaded, but it does not give me the Vaio Control Center.

On the AR51 the control centre option is available for install via VAIO recovery centre, but when installed the option to programme the S1 & S2 keys and the sony logo lamp is not present.

If you look in control center and the setting utility series folders (C:\ProgramData\Sony Corporation as well as C:\Program Files\Sony), the exe's are there for this service ("VCCSpecialButton.exe" I guess??) but it does not seem to load.
