    i have the tz50b which has the older celeron m processor - i bought it coz it was cheaper, can i upgrade this to a 1.2 ghz core 2 duo like the tz90?

    also where can i get the 2gb ram chip for it? (i live in the uk)

    Kingston Value Ram 2GB DDR 2 Ram 677 Mhz is widely available and runs perfect.

    I highly doubt it since the cpu is soldered on.

    That's a definite negative. Even if you had the skills to solder it, you can't buy the chips anywhere except in bulk from Intel.
