Well, it's been two years now, and I have even less love for the Sony.... So little infact that I've removed the faster CPU form the sony and stuffed it in the Dell.

-The alps mouse still continually locks up and stops responding for a few seconds.

-Keyboard skips some letters every now and then when they system stops responding while the HD swaps.

-I DO like the speakers on the sony, they are plenty loud.

-Still hate the speaker ports at the back, hard to get to

-Resolution on the screen is great +1 for that sony

-The Fans continue to churn loudly even with the power management settings to auto adjustment.

    -Case feels flimsy

    Dell XPS 1210

-Cheap dell parts, had to replace the motherboard, since the power cable wouldn't charge anymore and the network cable didn't pick up a signal unless you jostled the cable vigorously. On the plus side they replaced the motherboard and bezel in 5 days, all under the extended warranty!

-I ABSOLUTELY love the feature that disables the mousepad when a USB is attached.

-Keyboard is very good and I find it easier to type on then the sony.

-The two headphone ports came in more handy then expected

-Do not like that everytime I hook in something to the MIC port I must open the client software to recognize it.

-Battery life falls off far too fast with regular usage.

Overall, I would choose a Dell XPS over a Vaio for future purchases.
