    Hi All,

I just purchased the new 16" F Series. Right out of the box, the unit makes a slight buzzing noise on the right side. It starts after the unit has booted. It tends to happen when the machine is idle. It's the same if the battery is in or out. It's not the fan. If I am running quicktime, for example, it immediately stops but immediately starts once I stop quicktime. Weirdest thing. It feels like a feedback problem of some kind.

I am debating whether to just return it or not and go with a Dell. I have a feeling that it is not something easily fixed. Anyone else experience this?

    Thanks!

    Steve

Yes, I got my brand-new F-series today and it does have the "hum". I believe there was a statement that this can be easily fixed via firmware and I will check that option out.

If this is not easily fixable, and I receive confirmation about that, then I will send the laptop back. I will definitely wait for a few days and see if there is an easy fix for this.

I am going to check as well and will post what I find but I will likely return it as well if there is no solution. Pity, sweet machine.
