Recently my hard drive in my 2011 Sony Vaio failed. It had a 640gb 5400 rpm drive. I bought a 7200 rpm drive to replace it, both are 2.5 sata drives yet the new one doesn't have the same connections as the old one did. Aren't all 2.5 sata drives the same? Am I doing something wrong?

post a picture of connector here.
If you can't plug your new drive to the laptop, then it must be different.
