Hey guys, I hope this is in the right section. I've been searching for a whole day now and have found nothing for my issue.

I have just got a sony vaio S15, (SVS151290X) the laptop came with windows 8 64 bit, however I decided that i would much rather use windows 7. So I set up my hard drive as one partition, formatted it and installed windows 7 64 bit. I downloaded all my drivers from Nvidia, Intel etc as sony does not host windows 7 drivers for this laptop, that was all fine but I can not get the Fn keys working. I have tried the hotkeys driver from sony for windows 7 from the SVS151190X however it detects that this is not my laptop and refuses to install. I have also tried the hotkeys driver for windows 8 for my laptop, it installs but does not solve the issue. I've tried the sony event service driver for other laptops, however these also will not install onto my model of vaio. im really hoping that I can get these Fn keys working as everything else is perfect under windows 7. any ideas?

    Thanks!

I'm pretty positive it was Sony firmware extension parser and shared library that made them working.

Altho i must ask did you manage to peramently turn off the backlit?

Thank you for the tip. It solved my fn hotkey on duo 11, too! I gathered that since the machines are launched at about the same time, and they have many parts that are the same, I might as well use the control center program in an s15 (the duo version refused to let me install because I downgraded to windows 7 64 bit.) Worked beautifully. Now my Fn keys are functioning normally, thank you very much!

    Hi,

I've got the same problem and when I tried to follow the advice, didn't work for me.
When the Windows 7 Ultimate has been installed on my PC, the function keys and the stamina/speed button stopped working. I tried everything - i downloaded the uni extract, tried to install the Vaio Control Center driver and Vaio Power Manager separately, didn't work. It is so annoying. Do you think there might be another solution to this problem?
