    256 or 512mb discrete/dedicated ram on AR590E?

    does the AR590E have 256mb or 512mb dedicated ram?

    if someone could run the Info system on their AR590E vista to see how much dedicated, that would be perfect.....i just want to see how much does the system say is dedicated and how much is allocated considering that the system has 2gb of SYSTEM RAM.

    btw, if you increase the system's ram from like 1gb to 2gb. Would it increase the 8600m GT's video RAM say from a 256 dedicated to a 512 dedicated amount?

    The system memory won't increase the dedicated amount on your card. It may be able to borrow more from the system memory, but it won't be dedicated.

    so its basically just a design architecture right? so youre saying that NVIDIA created a 256mb and a 512mb dedicated version of the 8600m GT right?

    no reply on the dedicated ram in the ar590e?.... cmon i know some you guys actually has this laptop

    I just checked mine for you. The dedicated video memory is 256 MB. [Total available graphics memory is 1023 MB, system video memory is 0 MB, and shared system memory is 767 MB. This stuff is all Greek to me, by the way, but I hope it helps you.]
