Bought the 64bit Z690... I have one program that is only able to run on a 32bit OS.. Are there any solutions?? Maybe creating a partition and installing a copy of 32bit XP... Would that work or is 64bit a hardware issue meaning nothing could be done. Any help appreciated..Dan

no reason to install a 32 bit os for your program.
microsofts 64 bit windows software like xp64 and vista 64 do have a very good 32 bit emulation onboard. there is no problem running such software, and you should not experience any problems with your software, unless it is a 16 bit application ( really old).
concerning your question, of course it is possible for you to install a 32 bit os on 64 bit hardware, but you can not install a 64 bit os on 32 bit hardware. -
What is the program you`re trying to run? Maybe we can find you a nice alternative...

I'm running a Citrix Web Client from Citrix Systems... Citrix doesnt have a 64bit version of this specific server.. What is a 32bit emulator? Would that be a solution over the partition 32bit OS solution?

the emulation is part of the windows x64 os (xp and vista), and allows you to install and any 32 bit software you like. it is working all the time, and there is no need to tweak or change anything to the system.
it´s just installing the software you like and you are ready to use it. i am running a lot of 32 bit software on my xp 64 from graphics programs to cad to webdesign.... and never experienced any troubles with it.
and your webclient should work also without any problems. -
As mentioned, a 64-bit OS will be able to run 32-bit programs no problem. This is handled by Windows-on-Windows 64-bit (WOW64) ( link). The only program I know of off the top of my head that absolutely will not work on a 64-bit OS is Cisco's VPN Client.

Well it turns out my Citrix client is another program that wont work on 64bit...If I partition the hard drive, can I install a 32bit XP OS? If I can, will that solve my problem? Dan
