    Hi,

I just noticed that this folder on my Z11 has a few files that together take 35GB of space:

    C:\Users\Bryan\AppData\Roaming\Auslogics\Rescue\Sony Maintenance

Anyone know what it is and whether it can be deleted? I searched Google and this forum and couldn't find much info strangely.

Nope, must've been something you downloaded or maybe it came preinstalled. Uninstall Auslogics software from the Programs and Features control panel.

    Auslogics is a defragmenter program.
I believe you can uninstall it without causing a problem.

You shouldn't be defragmenting a SSD anyway...

That's a common misconception. You shouldn't defragment an SSD often, because it (a) doesn't slow down due to head repositioning on fragmented files, and (b) extra writes decrease the life span of an SSD.
However, SSDs also suffer from another effect of fragmentation: an excess number of continuation blocks, which take up valuable space on the disk and make disk garbage collection less effective.

So yes, you should defragment an SSD, just not often, and only by straight files-only or consolidation-only passes. Never use any tool that repositions files to make a drive "faster".
The free Microsoft Sysinternals "contig", run every few months, is a good solution.

But even more important is to never fill an SSD up. That causes fragmentation en masse, and seriously reduces the effects of garbage collection and wear leveling.
