I'm looking for a new battery for my VGN-FE660 and have found several companies selling BPL2C-compatible battery packs for between $50 and $150, so these seem like a good deal compared to the $250-$300 for the "official" Sony batteries. I haven't been able to find much information about the quality and compatibility of these batteries, except for a post from a couple years ago about software that rejects non-Sony batteries (which doesn't matter for Linux). Does anyone have experience/recommendations for these batteries?

ill say with my old laptop (an hp) the ebay battery gave about half the charge time i got from the HP battery when it was new and i may have contributed to the laptop's ultimate demise (electrical problems abound). be weary and remember you get what you pay for.
