    Hey guys!
just found what looks to be a good deal on a sony FZ
It has the blue ray burner, GeForce 8400M GT graphics, and 2gb of ram
the only thing that concerns me is the 4200RPM hard drive:
Has anyone actually got this laptop?
and if so is the Hard drive speed an issue
In particular I want to edit hdv footage on it...
any comments would be much appreciated
    luv ya work... ;)

Remember, you can upgrade the HD. If you found a good deal, get it

Tigerdirect.com have the Hitachi Travelstar which is one or maybe the best HDD with 200 GB at 7,200 RPM at $189.99 and Newegg.com have the same but with 160 GB at 7,200 RPM for $169.99. Remember the HDD is very easy to replace especially if you have the CD's restore and driver's so you can put everything on the new drive.

I have this and use it every day and so far have had no reason to upgrade the hard drive yet. It works just fine with the 4200rpm hard drive for what I do which is mainly watching BD movies and surfing the web.

search on here for the hitachi USB external drive that many have been swapping out and putting into their Sonys. I just did this with my sz691nx that came with the odd 4200rpm drive. When I used the 4200 drive, it wasnt that bad either, so I would try it out first.
