Do you guys think that the NVidia Geforce Go 7600 card in the VAIO FE690 is underclocked? If so, can it be overclocked? Can I get the card in this machine to perform similarly to the X1600 card? Please help.

The AR series is using a Go7600 128mb, i am worried that they are using that same card in the 690..but not sure. Maybe someone should call them up... but i doubt we'd get any good information. -
THAT SUCKS ITS A 128MB Go7600..

I thought it was 128 dedicated and its taken up to 256 with TC. But apparently, the 7600 doesnt support turbochache according to the table at the bottom of this page:

hah good to know i didn't get completely screwed on my FE 590 : ) eh you figure for a 75 dollar upgrade would it really be more then double the performance of the 7400.

does that mean there is less of a difference between the cards?

The 7600 stills beat down the 7400 go hands down. I was just saying it's not as big a deal since the 7600 on the FE690 only has 128 video ram. It's going to be faster, but 256 would have made it sick! Sony isn't stupid though, x1600 and 7600 at 256 ram will generate lots of heat under clocked even. Heat bothers me enough that i would prefer my 7400 go since it runs almost inaudiably silent even under a full work load. -jb
