I am looking for graphics drivers for the FZ15G (IE non-American model). The Sony driver update site for Asia/Pacific has the most recent driver as the ' 7.15.11.128' from June 2007. Surely there is a newer driver than this for the 8400GT but what action should I take to get a newer one?

If you don't mind using beta drivers you could go to www.laptopvideo2go.com and download version 169.09 and the modified inf file, that will work and is what most of us are running right now.

How 'dodge' is it? Can I expect that much of a performance increase?

Hey I just installed 7.15.11.6743 from laptopvideo2go and it has made a difference to my windows experience index. My desktop performance for vesta aero went from 4.0 to 4.1 and gaming graphics went from 4.7 to 4.8. Although we are only talking going up in 0.1, its a nice little free boost, thanks Jesse.

thats weird.i got 5.9 as my desktop performance for aero.

the only thing holding back my total score is my ram @4.6.

my 2x2gigs should be here any day now.

the ram may make a small difference but the performance index bases its rating off the speed of the ram, not necessarily how much there is.

really? i thought it would make a impact on it.

I think it has to do with all the crap in the background.

    hey guys.......im back.

    good news and bad:

the bad: wvhpx86 only sees 3070mb of the 4gigs

the good: my ram score went from 4.5 to 5.1.

    so now i am at:

    5.4
    5.1
    5.9
    5.3
    4.7

im happy with this hhdd so i dont think im gonna replace this anytime soon.

so the 4gig corsair 667 ram boosted me by .6 points.

ummm the ram i took out was a brand i never heard of.......lol

i think if youre missing stuff or cant install certain ones(failed updates), it has to do with office software.

I was getting 10 failed vista updates, but after i installed msoffice it installed all the available windows vista updates. I no longer have faild ones/ available updates.

very weird how vista works.......i hope they release sp1 soon as im really eager to use this wonderful sony laptop in a full 64 bit environment......not to mention get the most out of my installed ram.

i love how bright the screen is.......the clarity and color is right up there with my bravia and this monitor i bought fo my girl: samsung 22inch 226bw

The screen is amazing, it is just as good as the Sony computer screen I have that is about a year old now (17 inch). Mr parents got a 40 inch Sony LCD TV, problem is no High-Definition TV in New Zealand yet, but when it comes that TV will be awesome.

I had huge problems when I first got this laptop with both Vaio update and Windows update but if you are prepared to fight with it, you'll win and get your way.

Service Pack One will be great, hopefully COD4 ill rub great without it though ( I am going to get it as soon as my last exam for the year is over).

    haha yeah, cod4 is awesome.

I beat it on ps3..havent really touched the multiplayer though.

yeah these screens are great especially outdoors, where other screens wouldnt be visible due to the sun....these xbrite hicolors fix that problem.
