A little help for comparing ...

Okay first of all i live in malaysia... been pretty interested in the SZ series .. but have some doubts in mind ...

so as someone state before , 110 - 140 = non premium and 150 above is premium .. so for the US site ,

hmmm a little confues , doesnt Sony have internationally same model ? and whats GP? and ermm the price diff ... 7900 malaysian dollar would be 2079 USD and thats just a mere non-premium SZ .. wierd .. can u guys help me to compare the notebooks between the US site and Msia site ?? i'm really bad at computer .. And i just called Sony for some information ..

1) whats the diff between the sz280 in US site and the malaysia SZ28G ?

2) Are these premium series ?
What do u mean by premium ?

3) Is it vista capable ?
Yes it is

4) what about the merom chip ?
Whats that chip ?

5) the 64-bit chip ..
Whats that ?

6) What are the both comps made of ?
Not sure , wait .. ( after awhile ) okay .. erm both are same .. carbon .. ( i thought only premiums one are made of carbon ??)

7) So whats the diff between both comps ?
Well mainly the hardware and stuff .. and the SZ-25G does not have fingerprint security ( wth ? i thought all SZ series had that in the US site ?)

8) What about the Warranty ? does it include accident ?
No , only hardware ... ( and i thought we could include accident warranty with higher price ? )

Hmmm i'll ask more tommorow or few days later ... from what i see , i'm having alot of doubts for the malaysian sony laptops .. do u guys think i should order online from P1 ? ( having much more confident with them ) But a little afraid if the comp has any problem and stuff , does the warranty covers internationally and if i were to send back to P1 it would be really troublesome ..

I think you should try asking P1 on the off chance they know something about the Malaysian laptops. You can actually start off by asking them about international warranty, since that's something they have to know. Just make sure to call, not email; you'll get more info out of them that way.

hmmm the malaysia's SZ 28GP/C is 2079 USD and the US's SZ 280P/C is 2899 USD ... the only difference i saw was the SZ280P/C has 120 GB ( SZ28GP/C has 100 GB ) and 2 GB of ram ( SZ28GP/C has 1 GB of ram ) Does that really cost 800 USD more ?? or there are other differences that i didnt notice ? can someone please help me to compare both of them ??? the site is at my first post ...
