    Hello
    I'm new here. I'm from Chile, SouthAmerica. A friend from the US is coming to Chile soon and he offered to buy me a notebook (In Chile the notebooks are quite expensive: a vaio SZ640 costs about $2.900,0 with the standard options). I don't know much about notebooks but I managed to configured a FZ4000:

    * Intel Core 2 Duo Processor T8100 (2.1GHz)
    * Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium
    * 2 GB DDR-SDRAM (DDR2-667, 1 GBx2)
    * 160GB SATA Hard Disk Drive
    * DVD±R DL / DVD±RW / DVD-RAM Drive
    * LCD 15.4" WXGA (XBRITE-HiColor™)
    * NVIDIA® GeForce® 8400M GT
    * WLAN 802.11 a/b/g/n w/Integrated Bluetooth®
    * Polished Mosaic
    * Standard Battery (BPS8)

    Well, the notebook is for using it at the University (doing papers, internet, ...) and to watch movies and TV Series, photoshop and downloading stuff in my free time. I also play online games from time to time (usually Ragnarok).
    So I wanted to know if this configuration is OK .. >.<

    Please, I need to make the order soon because my friend is coming here on the 02/28

    Oh, and do you know if Sony is offering any vaio accesory bundle or what-ever it's called?

    I'm sorry for my english xD

    ;)

    You may be out of luck for this one. Pre-ordered (backordered) shipments are going out this week and if your friend needs to have it in hand by 02/28 it could be cutting it close. There is already a sizeable line for this one but we have no idea how fast the line is moving. Just keep that in mind.

    That configuration looks good for what you want to use it for.
    If you can afford it, a CPU bump to 2.4GHz might be a good idea. Also, more RAM is always good but 2GB is great for 90% of people. Lastly, if you think you may watch Blu-Ray movies on your computer or on a HDTV, you could upgrade that but it's $200-$400(BD burner). Some people want lots and lots of hard drive space, but I think 160GB is quite a bit for most people.
