I want to buy one of this 2 Notebooks:

    A serie:
    Pentium M 740 1,73GHz
    512MB-DDR2 SDRAM 400MHz
    17" WXGA Screen 1440 x 900
ATI MOBILITY RADEON X600 with 128 MB VRAM

    FS serie:
    Pentium M 740 1,73GHz
    512MB-DDR SDRAM 333MHz
    15.4" WXGA Screen 1280 x 800
NVIDIA GeForce Go 6200 with TurboCache 128MB

There are some other differences between the series but they aren't so important for me.

I need the notebook for work and to play sometimes. But i'm not the hardcore gamer. :)
The Notebook from the A serie has a realy nice screen but i'm not sure if the X600 is fast enought to support this resolution as example for half life 2.?

It would help me alot if i could get the benchmark points from 3d Mark 2003 (http://www.futuremark.com/).
But in general i think the Go 6200 is faster then the X600 even if the X600 has DDR2.
Is this true? And about how much should they be faster?

Quite on the contrary, X600 is much faster. Go6200 has only 32 MB of discrete memory, the rest is sheared.
The A is in faster in every regard the question is only are you willing to put up with it's size, weight and shorter battery life (if truth be told FS is not all that brilliant in this aspect either).

Thx, that makes it more easy. :)
Wight, battery and size dosen't realy matter for me.

In this case i need only a benchmark result from 1 of the Notebooks.
So i can compare it with my desktop pc and know how much i could expect.

    Hey Shamanu

    I have a FS500, my specs are
    Pentium M 1.73
    512 DDR
    60 gig Harddrive
    Geforce Go 6200

I've been playing HL2 on it for about 2 and a half weeks. Most of the time I play Counter Strike Source. When you start HL2 it automatically detects the best setting for your rig.

It gives medium resoultions, medium textures, high audio, high everything else except those 2 mediums (prolly because of low memory). Nice thing is I play counter strike at medium high settings in widescreen at the FS native resolution of 1280x800 and it runs without any hicups, I ran the built in becnhmark and average 47 fps but there were hicups at full settings where it was noticeable. even though average frame rate was 47. Everything runs in DX9

Bottom line HL2 will run fine at medium high settings on the FS. Hope this is helpful.
