Bigtime buyer's remorse +/- uncertainty here:

    - Have an s470 on order from sonystyle.ca...have until tomorrow to cancel before shipping.
    - Futureshop has a T250 in stock. I REALLY REALLY like this notebook.

    Question:

    - Is 10.6" too small?
    - Is the T250 worth ( exactly) $500 more after taxes, for a less "powerful" notebook?

I really need bluetooth, a PCMCIA slot, and would like an onboard optical drive. I really need portability. I probably will not game on the road. I will probably use Photoshop though.

    Which should I buy?? Help!!

I have a T150 (same thing, almost) and I love it. It's one of the very few subnotebooks with a built in optical drive. I think the screen is beautiful - 1280 x 768, and I very seldom do anything to make text bigger. For me, it's a complete system in a 3 lb pack. And the battery life is pretty good, too.

Is it worth $500 more - now there's the question. There's only one person who can anser that question. You could buy the 150 and save some $$$ if you don't need to write DVDs.

I think you want to ask yourself do you have another computer that could do the work that needs power -- T could do Photoshop, but the people I know that use T for Photoshop have desktops as their main workhorse. If you need horsepower and bigger screen for plenty photo editing, you want to go with S series.

...Yeah, it's definitely not going to be my main computer. I'm really leaning toward the T250; however, it's so pricey!!

The S470 sure seems like the better buy...cutting edge chipset and processor, SATA 5400 rpm HD, dual layer DVD burner, better graphics card, etc. The only thing that worries me is noise. (I suppose I could always throttle the CPU using Centrino Hardware Control). Just wondering if it's a little too big/heavy for serious portability. Beyond that, I'd still have to add bluetooth (either internally, or via PCMCIA card). Furthermore, the battery life is not quite as good as the beloved T250.

Anyway, the T150 here in Canada still has a DVD burner...It just has a 1.1 processor instead of the 1.2, and comes with XP Home instead of Pro. $200 less at that.

I waffle back and forth based on the minute you ask. This is not an easy choice: there are serious pluses and minuses for each. -sigh-

Is Ebay not an option? I'm seeing some T250's selling for good prices.

One thing to consider is T series uses 1.8" hard drive. Only runs at 4200RPM and cannot be upgraded.

Right, if you want a 10.6" you should really be looking at the Fujitsu P7000.
