    Hey, again, everyone.

I'm still getting to know my laptop that I started using about a month ago. I'd imagine pretty soon I'm going to need another external HDD and since most of what I use my laptop for is video/photo editing as well as movies (some HD), it would be nice to be able to utilize the firewire port on my laptop.

My question is, which version of the interface do I have? I'm really hoping it's FireWire800, but not even the Sony website gives which version.

Let me tell you more about my model:

It's an AR770, CTO, ordered on May 30th of this year. I don't think any of the other specs will help, but I can list them if requested.

    Thanks!

My AR770 says "S400" next to the connector.

Also, I believe the Sony ports aren't powered so you can't use "bus powered" devices on them without a separate PSU... although I'm not 100% sure. :(
