Does the extended battery of the AR stick down like the FZ or out towards the back? Does the added weight make it to much to lug around?

    Thanks

On my AR670 it sticks out pretty far and yes it angles downward. That was the primary complaint I had -- I've never owned a VAIO, but the 6-8 other notebooks I've owned never had a battery that broke up the rectangular outline like this one. If it were the full width of the notebook it wouldn't be so bad, but it just sticks out across roughly 60% of the back edge, creating some pretty abrupt corners.

If you're not careful, it will hang up on your bag, especially with a backpack like mine where it slides in vertically instead of horizontally. Overall it's not been too bad, and I appreciate the extra capacity, but it just seems poorly designed. Other extended batteries I've seen snapped on the bottom and only increased overall thickness, but didn't change the overall outline as much as this.

Here's a quick camera phone pic I just snapped to illustrate:

Thanks for the pictures. I don't think that I would get the extended battery since it sticks out back like that. I would if it would go down like in the FZ.

    Thanks again!!
