This post is about the AV Mode in XP:

If you have figured it out, please share it with the rest of us. I've read up the manual for the TZ298N/XC which mostly covers Vista, and still nothing. Because my computer has no DVD Drive, there is no Instant AV Mode. I'm only referring to configuring the buttons, getting them to work in Windows XP.

Under the AV Mode Button Settings:
    You have three options:
    1. Start AV Mode Launcher - where you show a list of up to 6 programs to choose from when the AV button is pressed. You got to use the keyboard arrows to select the program and press the ENTER key.

    2. Run the selected program:
I've only got Windows Media Player and SonicStage showing. I've also installed VLC Player. If you can get more showing let me know.

    3. Run the specified program.
Pretty much any program you want. However, media program that uses the Play/Stop/Backwards/Forward buttons has an edge over those that don't. So far for me, I've only gotten al the buttons working with the default Windows Media Player and SonicStage.

When you go further into configuring the programs, you come across a few more options, which I believe also allows you to run a media program, while also specifing which folder or playlist you want to start with - I have yet to figure this out.

    For example:
Under "Program to run(*.exe) - you choose your program
Under "Option" - I have no idea!
Under "Work folder" - I presume you specify a folder. But I have not gotten this to work.

If anyone figures out what to type in "Options" and is able to use the "Work Folder" let us know. Thanks.

At the moment, I will probably stick with SonicStage until I can get Windows Media Player automatically load the playlist on startup.

    Thanks,
