I have never owned a Viao product but have always been an early adopter, so I'm considering a VGN-AW190. few questions:

What are the chances this thing will face the same overheating problems I've been reading about with other Vaio notebooks?

Does Sony hardware tie itself into Sony software in such a way that you need to use their software to get hardware features? or can it easily be removed and wiped clean?

I've seen some photos with a remote here and there. Does the AW come with a remote? If so what functionality does it offer?

    Does the AW have infrared?

Until CS4 comes out, how fast/slow is CS3 on a 64 bit machine?

Does the T9600 use more/less/same battery power compared to the T9400?

If I buy a SATA drive only to begin with, will I be able to add on the SSD later to the same machine?

There is no mention of the audio card and speakers for the AW on Sony's site as far as I can see. Does anyone have more information on that?

    Thank you

You see my sig? I have the previous version of the notebook and it was the most quietest/non-heating notebook i ever had i just bought my 6th notebook so that's saying alot.

From what i read it's suppose to be standard but dont quote me on that.

    Does the AW have infrared

I believe so especially since it has a remote.

Does the T9600 use more/less/same battery power compared to the T9400?

it use less because the overall wattage is less that the chip uses.

If I buy a SATA drive only to begin with, will I be able to add on the SSD later to the same machine?

Im not too sure about this but i dont see why you wouldnt be able too a xps m1730 can use an SSD so im sure this can as well

No there hasn't been any but if my AR is any indication it'll kick but :D

    Thank you

    You're welcome :D

Based on the Sony UK site only the top model, the AW11XU/Q will have a remote control (based on the picture it is a full sized TV type remote, hybrid TV tuner and Remote commander RM-MCE30E).

I wonder if they will include the remote with the lower models in the series at a later date, or whether they are are all infrared, so you can just go and buy a remote?

The link below shows the picture of the AW and the remote control:

Erm guys..OCZ made a low budget SSD drives that are identical as normal 2.5" HDDs and have the same interface. A person just opens up notebook, swaps HDD with a new SSD and voila..it works like a charm.

Strange it looks like the grey model doesn't come with a TV Tuner. But when I go to customize it there is a checkbox for TV Tuner. Will have to call Sony and ask them tomorrow.

I just got off the phone with Sony and at least in the US, it seems both customizable models, VGN-AW190 & VGN-AW190 Premium come with a TV Tuner, as noted in the customize screen.

Might place an order next week. I want to go to the Sony Style stores in So Cal and see if they have the AW model there first.
