Does anyone clearly know about this? If I buy a very cheap brand new printer and trade-in to sony, can I really get the $400 rebate?
I want to buy this VGN-S170B18 if I can do that. Because that is a good price after the $400 rebate. Can anyone tell me the true?

Those are owned by the same company. As for buying from them, eCost.com is my favorite, maybe second favorite, retailer on the web.

CAREFUL!!!!!!! THERE IS NO $400 TRADE IN REBATE. Unless things have changed, I called trade-ups (the company that handle's the tradeins for Sony) and they said the $400 promo wasn YANKED by Sony execs only a few days after the promo began and they have no estimate if or when it will start up again! This was in mid-September.

If you look at ecost's pdf, you'll see there is no actual form. It's like an ad. Go to the tradeups.sony.com page and when you click on promo's it still says "No promos."

I dunno why ecost has been advertising this for months!
