I havent gotten the TZ yet but pretty much settled with it.
However, i'd like to ask 1 question first~

This doesn't really apply to only Sony laptop but generally as well
    perhaps.

I've been reading threads where people chose to re-install the OS
to remove all the bloatwares and such. I just want to know. How
    do you do that?

I mean, the last time I bought my ACER desktop, it runs on Vista Business
but I don't see them providing me any sort of Vista CD where I can pop
into the drive and do a fresh install. The same thing happened to my friend
who purchased a new ASUS laptop, they didn't give any Vista installation
CD like they would for Windows XP.

To be honest, I have not bought any Vista laptops..... yet.
Last laptop I have was SAGER and tat runs on XP Pro and they did provide the installation cd. My previous one before that was Toshiba; they did not provide any installation XP Pro CD but they did provide Recovery CD which is only meant for use for that laptop model.

I want to know what is given when I purchase this Sony Vaio TZ.
Will there be any OS CD given? If no, I assume you need to purchase a brand new OS CD for Windows Vista? (Will cost another bomb -_-)

Sony laptops (and most other brands) come without Vista DVD. To perform a clean install you do need one.

If you already have a license, Microsoft can send you one for a small fee. I heard this but I've never tried it myself.

Other options to get rid of bloatware include the semi-clean install and the bloatware removal procedure. If you'd like to know more about those I suggest using the search function.

No OS discs come with the TZ.

Definitely do a search for Vista installs on VAIOs. They are very easy to find and detailed.

I used the guide titled TZ vista Clean Install by jlccarv

My install differs as i also used the no activation method, before I wiped out the old install.

Also my TZ came with a broadcom bluetooth module instead of the toshiba one.

Make sure you backup your original drivers too. The most troublesome thing for me was to actually find all those Shared DLL libraries and misc drivers as they werent in my list of original drivers.

Out of curiosity, what made you choose a TZ instead of the TT?

At first it's because I need to get a laptop in 2 week's time
and that the TT isn't available yet in Jakarta.

    But now it's here!!!!
I'm settling with a TT now!!!!!
I just saw the machine, it's NOT THAT BAD!
Like how people say the silver thingy on the edge is cheap-looking?

    It's ok to me XD
(Well, i guess it's up to individuals as well)

But I know that the TZ has more battery life compared to the TT.
I'm just more interested in the TT because
1st - I don't know if they're lying about the TZ they sold already being recalled (This is Jakarta, people here will cheat to get their product sold no matter what)
2nd - The TZ's graphic card is an OUCH OUCH! TT's much better
3rd - yes the TZ has more battery life but only 2gb RAM :(. TT has DDR3 and it boosts up to 4gb ram, so i guess i'll go with that ^_^.

PS: But I'm pretty sure the way to install Windows is the same huh?
PS2: I feel like I'm betraying you christine for getting the TT :(
