I'm gonna order a VAIO VGN-FW292 tonight, researched a lot and I think this is the best laptop for my needs. It's gonna be for everyday use and recording music, plus listening to music, watching videos, multimedia stuff like that. First off I wanted to know, are there any special deals or coupons available? I haven't seen any but I know sometimes they can be tough to find. Also, Sony doesn't have a student discount does it?

Finally (and most importantly), I'm posting my system specs here. If someone could take a look at it and give me an idea of if anything really should be upgraded or if the setup looks solid, that'd be great. Here are the specs:
    *
    Intel® Core™ 2 Duo Processor P8600 (2.40GHz)
    *
    Microsoft® Windows Vista® Home Premium 64-bit
    *
    Sound Waves
    *
2 GB DDR2-SDRAM (DDR2-800, 1GBx2) (Will be buying more RAM for a lower price)
    *
250 GB SATA Hard Disk Drive [7200 rpm]
    *
    DVD±R DL / DVD±RW / DVD-RAM Drive
    *
Mobile Intel® Graphics Media Accelerator 4500MHD with Intel® Clear Video Technology
    *
    LCD 16.4" (XBRITE-ECO™)
    *
    No Fresh Start™
    *
    Video Standard
    *
    QuickBooks Simple Start
    *
    Windows Live OneCare 90-Day Trial

    *
    No Engraving
    *
    Microsoft® Works
    *
    None
    *
WLAN (802.11a/b/g/n) with integrated Bluetooth® technology
    *
Standard Battery (Thinking about upgrading this?)

    Thanks!

I would opt for the ATI graphics. That is the one and only thing that can't be upgraded later and it also is the one thing people tend to regret.

The 4500 from Intel is MUCH better and improved from the previous integrated chips, but the ATI would be worth it, IMO.
