Hey guys, I'm new here. I just bought my new Z11 few days ago, had a mac book pro before, what a POS LOL.

Anyhow, mine has 128GB of SSD in a Raid 0 config, in the intel RST it says I have two spare open ports, and I know the upper signature series of the Z has quad SSD's so I'm wondering what harddrive expansion options I have?

Is it possible to swap out the current SSD with larger capacity ones? or possibly add on another 2 64 GB SSD for 256 total?

    Thanks!

There aren't any options except asking Sony to order an additional SSD (if that is even possible) because these Samsung SSDs are physically smaller than 1.8" drives and are specially-made for this laptop.

The dual/quad "Sony" SSDs are seemingly proprietary.

I've added an additional SSD (as have a few other forum members) by removing the DVD drive and putting it in there, using a Lenovo Ultrabay III adapter.

Search the forums if you want more detail; it involved pulling the Z apart but it was pretty easy overall and in my case I was able to do it with zero impact to the Z; I could put the drive back into it in about 10 - 15 mins and it'd be back to factory.
