Hello! I have a question regarding the display settings on my Vaio. The normal widescreen desktop display settings are fine, but I'm attempting to run an older game (Fallout) which has a 4:3 aspect ratio. When the game runs, the system stretches the video to fill my widescreen notebook display, distorting the game.
My desktop monitor has the option to select different pixel aspect ratios, like fill to screen, pixel to pixel, etc. I am trying to find a similar function in Vista or the Vaio display settings so I can run the game at the normal 4:3 aspect ratio. Unfortunately I can't find such an option! I tried choosing a 4:3 display resolution as a test, but it still stretches to fill the screen, which I don't want.
Any advice on this one? Thanks!

you are using the integraphic card from intel? press ctrl + alt + f12, it should bring up the control panel. Select display settings, and you can choose the aspect ratio. Another way to go to the control center is to right click at the desktop and select graphic properties

Same here on my TZ, I can only run Fallout 2 stretched out, I would like to play it either in a window or with bars on the side to keep the aspect ratio.
This is when I choose to stretch the image in the BIOS, if I choose no, then it displays it as native 640x480 (the games resolution), but in a small box in the center of the screen.
I'd like to play it 1024x768 with bars on the sides, or playing them in windowed mode would be best, please help! -
have you tried to set the aspect ratio to "Maintain aspect ratio" in intel's control panel?

what version of intel driver are you using? mine is the 15.7, released around sometime in november, the aspect ratio options is in the display settings tab, and there is a button to access "aspect ratio options"
