I'm in need of a new laptop and I've found this Vaio to be my best fit. I think that $699 is a fair price for it, however I just saw the Best Buy black friday ad and they will have it on sale for $479. It'd be awesome to get that for under $500, but I don't think it's realistic to think I'd be able to get in line early enough for that. So I'm wondering if they will drop their prices or have a sale after Christmas. Is that something they usually do? When do the new models come out? Anyone other advice to get the best price?

    Welcome :)

Your in a similar boat as a friend of mine (he wants a CW). The best thing to do atm is wait until cyber monday. Sony will have a sale on their website, best buy will do something online (will not be 220 discount, but anything is better then nothing).

Fyi if you buy it from Sony it is $779 off the bat with an ATI graphics card, IDK if that is worth it to you or not.
