    Hi

    I'm about to order this model : VGNZ 45X which is a EU model. It has a T9900 and is not too expensive for a EU model.
    I wanted to buy a model with a P9700 because of the lower TDP (28) , but I cannot configure it as Vaio By You is not working in the Netherlands.

    So, I need some advise from VAIO Z owners with a T9900 in their Z's;
    - how's the fan noise?
    - is it getting hot?

    Big Thanks!

    With most likely Z5's coming in October i would wait before i bought a Z.

    Edited to add:
    I had a look at your link and that is a good deal and i can see why it is tempting to buy now. Prices are really pretty decent in the Netherlands. Things are much more affordable than in the UK.

    Yeah, I think it's a great deal. Same config in Germany for 3500 EUR.

    some thoughts which i wanted to share.

    'Tested' the Z a few times at a sony style shop and felt the z isn't solid, in particular the screen which at times looks warped. The cylindrical tube also felt cheap (and sounded hollow). The 16:9 ratio 13.1 inchd screen also looked tiny (compared to SZ18 which i am using now, a 13.3 inch).That ratio may be good for watching films but may be a little on the 'short' side for viewing documents. Compared to Thinkpad T400s and X301, the z failed miserably in terms of build. No doubt the Z is much higher specced the the x301/t400s.
    Personally, i decided either i wait for the successor to Z or go for a thinkpad x301.
