did you try stacking EPP discount with the OUTLETVAIO15PC coupon code, it didn't seem to stack last night which is why I didn't end up getting one. the EPP is 5% and OUTLETVAIO15PC is 15% but adding them both to cart still gave 15%... arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrghhhhh... :D
I feel like a pissed off baby now (read: stewie) lol

As I remember its specifications are:
    1600 x 900 resolution,
    i460m or i520m CPU,
    128 GB SSD HDD,
    4 GB RAM,
    6-cell Battery,
    other specs are standard.

    999 USD was BEFORE %15 off !

There isn't anything close to $999 without a coupon in the outlet now. 128 GB units are $1249-$1,499 with, at most, a 1080p screen, maybe an i5-580 cpu, all the rest standard.

Still no coupons I can see. Anyone else?

    Current cheapest Zs:

    $1,469.95 VPCZ1290X CTO | Windows 7 home |i5-540M | 1080p | 4gb/128gb
    $1,489.95 VPCZ1290X CTO | Windows 7 pro |i5-540M | 900p | 4gb/256gb

It looks like over the past two weeks Sony has added a ton of 1390X models, when I bought mine it was the only one in the outlet. So there is a chance, if you watch it like a hawk.

My advice is keep watching, your time will come eventually. I got my Vaio Z with 64GBx2, 1080p, 8GB RAM, i5-540M, and limited edition Metal Shield lid for $999. Somebody had a similar deal before me. Good luck!

I am afraid, no one will see any Z series below 1400 USD on Sony web store. They were very limited number of notebooks and all of them sold in a few days. So, if you want any Z series from Sony you have to pay more then 1400 USD. :(

But... if sony decides to quick-sell all current Refurbished Z series we may see some prices like 1250 USD but I do not think we can see any price like 999 USD ever.

This is an excellent buy. Who knows, seller may even negotiate a bit, for a quick sale - but I have no info to back that up. Buying from NBR regulars has always served me well.

lols. yes I can and do negotiate. It's becoming a burden to feed two wives and a mistress (asus n43j is wife #1, vaio z 1290x is wife #2, this vaio z im selling is teh mistress), so I'm selling it away :D
