I have a FE-590, The screws fall out for no apparent reason many of which ive lost because of it, My CD/DVD drive no longer reads CD's, Many of the keys have lost their letters, My touchpads sealent had worn off leaving it patchy, My screen has developed a stress mark in the top right corner, My warranty is not valid outside the US. All of my problems with it occured in less than 6 months. Oh and Sony support has been aweful every time ive saught help.

Oh god.....thats a boat load of problems....
I own an FJ270/B, not quite an FE, but its an FS with a 14" screen and an S series battery. just over 5 months of practically nonstop use, had 0 problems with it (I dont know about the DVD writer - it failed once while burning a recovery disk, but I havent used it ever, so its a non-issue even if it doesnt work). Its a bit slow compared to newer models, and there are no dedicated graphics, but it serves my purpose well, and I paid just $1000 for it.

man!! feel sorry for u matt.........too bad ur fe backfired....but its kindda an opposite situation for me..... i've tried to pin point any fallacy in my fe38gp ...have had no success yet.....its a DREAM MACHINE.....
initially had doubts over the heating issue but later found out that it was much cooler than other lappys of this config ....so dats out of the question..

newayz @kuwaitgroup ...yup a 2gb ram will obviously enhance the gaming capabilities....but i guess u got 2 slots for ram and one is occupied by 512mb so either you take it out and put two 1gb ones or add another 1gb to the left over slot(other slot having 512mb)so effectively u get 1.5gb ram in this case..which actually is more than enough..

    k?? hope that helped

i just got a Fe 770g and liking it so far. But i need your guys held on something. Do you guys experiences this:

whenever your battery is charging and once it reaches 100%, does it keep on charging. I have noticed this problem and kinda concerned about it. Even when the battery is 100% as indicated on the windows taskbar, its still lists the battery as charging even whens its listed as 100%. Does anyone else also experiences this.

I would love to hear your input on this matter...

    thanks again.

I purchased my FE VAIO a week ago, and has now been sold on ebay.

Quite unimpressed with the build quality:

    - CD Tray, when closed, can be pushed further in.
    - Battery is loose when in the battery bay.
    - The plastic finish on the laptop makes it very, very cheap.
    - Backlight Leakage.

Also, installing a fresh copy of Windows = Nightmare.

Other than that, its a fine entertainment laptop specs wise.

The first two hold true for my laptop as well, but the third is the reason why I bought an FJ as opposed to an identically priced FE660G. There was a ton of flex in the LCD bexel, and it didnt feel as solid as the FJ. Granted the SZ was better than both, but it cost $900 more...

well, i've owned my FE 790 for a month now
a bit disappointed, maybe more than a bit
    build quality is horrible
    i thought the GO 7600 would be 256MB, not 128MB T__T
the only reason i'm still keeping is that i has my girlfriend's name engraved on it, and in the next few months i still need it
i'm cosidering selling it and go for an Asus instead, with better build quality and better specs, should I ??
and by the way, i haven't sold many things on eBay, so not sure if i can sell it :(
