    Hi all!

Got my Sony Z and just realized, that it uses non-synaptics touchpad. (but one from "Alps")
Everything is just fine, but there is no EdgeMotion option (It works when you need to grag an item over a long distance, and reach touchpad border, but cannot release the item - i.e. Drag a button over a long taskbar or move file over long folder tree).

Of course - that can be done with left btn under touchpad, bit on synaptics uyou can do 100% w/o buttons at all.

Maybe there is some fix or trick to enable edge motion with Alps?

(Sorry for my English  )

Can this absolutely not be done with an Alps touchpad, even with a software hack?

I like this feature in my Toshiba notebook two years ago where I could quickly launch programs by holding my finger on one of the four corners of the touchpad, it was some proprietary Toshiba software and doesn't work on my Vaio. :(

I just noticed it doesn't do the edge motion thing... after 2 full weeks of use lol.

My typical usage of the trackpad is to have my thumb on the buttons and my index finger on the pad, so I can drag with my index finger and release when I please. Of course, that doesn't exactly help your situation :p... I know how hard it can be when you get used to something and it's not there when you get a new computer. :(
