What other alternatives to the Vaio TT is there out there? I *really* loved my TT, but unfortunately I had two with the same touchpad problem and don't want to risk getting a third (although Sony was very helpful in replacing and trying to resolve the problem).

I especially liked the high resolution, the balanced size, the SSD and the battery time.

You should maybe consider a vaio Z instead..
It's a little bit larger, but also got SSD, one of the best screens for a laptop, very light, and very good battery time.
+ you get a real portable workhouse.

    I second that (the Z)

I have a Z520 and it has been a great little system....

There's the Toshiba Portege R600, the Dell Latitude E4200, the Thinkpad X301... personally I'd also go for the Z as (I believe) it's got the best screen of the bunch, and as I'm partial to Sonys.

Or you could take your chances on a 3rd TT, believe it or not there are actually some out there with functional touchpads... ;-)
